Re: MBB recruits 2015
Samuel would be a great pick-up! He was a 3* on ESPN and had notable offers from Fred Hoilberg at Iowa State as well as URI. More importantly, he played major minutes on a high major team that won 20 games. He's 6'4'', 200 lbs. and defensively focused... Sounds like just what the doctor ordered. Rea...

Re: Andre Walker
Personally a big fan. I think he'll compete for decent minutes this year, and will be a major piece for us his jr and sr seasons. Already a good interior defender as a shot blocker and has good size and athleticism for his position. HU doesn't get many 6'10'' 3 star big men, so let's hope JAM and cr...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Yeah, it seems like academics was the reason. Per http://liherald.com/oceanside/stories/Sabety-came-up-big-for-Sailors,46235?page=1&content_source= Sabety, who had nearly 20 offers from Division I programs, including Columbia, Iona, and Marist, selected Tufts for all the right reasons. “It was a...

Re: 2015-2016 basketball roster
Not a lot of talk on these boards about Juan'ya playing injured for the majority of the season. I forget which game specifically, but he injured his shooting wrist in one of the OOC games early in the season and played noticeably injured from there. I don't want to blame everything on it, but I have...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Would be a great fit! He is also coming off a torn ACL, so something to keep in mind. I believe it was us, Iona, Drexel, and Towson who were initially in it for him the most before he went to SC. It appears Iona is out of scholarships, but that never seems to be an issue over there. If the destinati...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Great get! System guy who fits that 6'4''-6'8'' stretch forward mold that we need! Yes, the injuries are a concern. However, with the upcoming year being such an important one for this program, this seems like a very safe, high reward type gamble. We need depth and this guy gives us some dangerous f...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Gustys was a starter at the best high school program in the nation and Walker received an offer from Shaka Smart. This team isn't known for its bigs though and potential bigs coming to Hofstra know they'll have a diminished role in the system compared to other places they're getting offers from. TH...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
First impressions-- GREAT fit for our system. 6'8'' with a quality outside shot and experience contributing. Also, easy to assume he's a high character guy and can play within JAM's system. He seems to have had some pretty serious knee issues in his past, but he also has shown All-Ivy level play. Co...

Hurley feels like a good fit. Interesting other possibility according to Jeff Goodman-- Shaka Smart. He acknowledges small chance of that happening-- let's hope that's the case. We don't need Shaka and his recruiting ability any closer to our campus...

Derrick Gordon is transferring from UMASS and available immediately. From North Jersey and would fit our system well. He's a strong character guy who would be a great replacement for Dion... http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/25121213/derrick-gordon-transferring-fro...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Buie with 25 points in the win-- Kid can flat out score. From the few games I've watched him play this season, it seems like he can run an offense too. It's important to remember that JAM is targeting players now who fit the system first and foremost. Buie might be small, but he can hit the 3, run a...

Re: MBB Game 32 - CAA Quarterfinals - JMU - 3/7/15, 2:30 PM
Cautiously excited for this game/tourney. We have "strong wildcard" written all over us, which I hope translates into fearlessness and tenacity for our team. JMU is incredibly beatable and not a terrible match up for us, despite our 0-2 record this season. The upside is that it's difficult...

Re: MBB Game 30 - C of C - 2/25/15 - Senior Night
Guys-- Eliel Gonzalez is a walk-on level player or worse. No exaggeration. If he is still on scholarship next year, I'll be VERY surprised. The guy is listed as a point guard but has no semblance of a handle. He isn't athletic, can't seem to shoot from the outside, and is completely out of control e...

Re: The Race For First
Gotta love this as a HU/CAA fan... It's still anybody's conference. If we can pull out a win against W&M, this could really get interesting for us. If I had to optimistically pick, I'd say it'll end up: 1. Northeastern at 13-5 (3-0, easiest remaining schedule) 2. UNCW at 12-6 (wins over Towson a...

Re: MBB Game 26 - Northeastern - 2/12/15, 7 PM
Goes without saying that this would be a huge win. When we played these guys a month ago, they shot 64% from the field, and 50% from the 3 pt line . They also got to the line 38 times. I know our defense has been suspect at best, but those numbers are truly unrepeatable. In our absolute most dominan...

Re: MBB Game 23 - TOWSON - 1/31/15, 8 PM
LONG time fan (season tickets since the Darius Burton days), long time visitor to this board/CAAZone, but a very seldom poster here. As a whole, I agree that we need to take a step back, take a breath, and let this season play out before we start getting on JM's case. The fact of the matter is we ca...
