Hofstra softball 2025

Post by stuball888 »

So we're just starting the conference schedule after a horrible start of 1-18
It seems that Adrian Clark now has the pitching staff zoned in
In the last five games, they have only given up eight runs. The bad part is we have only scored 11 runs in those five games.
The bats have got to come alive or this can be a very long season we now stand at4-19
Now is the pitching staff finally coming together we will find out this coming weekend when Delaware comes in
They are the best hitting team in the conference by far
Bill Edwards used to say they got us early but we will get them later. Let's hope this is what's happening with this season.

The demise of the once storied softball program is troubling. Seems to me that all Hofstra sports are tending down except for the soccer programs. There is a little uptick in Ladies Hoops but it might just be a tease for now.

So in one of the sloppiest games softball has ever seen we beat CAA favorite Delaware 10-6
Combined 7 errors by both teams also 4 hit batters and 4 wild pitches by Delaware
Now we took advantage so kudos to Hofstra
Delaware lived up to their hitting prowness
They scored six runs while slugging three home runs
Even with our improved pitching, it will be tough to keep Delaware hitting down the question is can we hit enough to overcome them the next two games?
Still, I will take a win over Delaware and hope we can at least split the next two games

Now it gets interesting
After a sloppy first game, we go to to toe with Delaware in game two and come away with a 5-4 victory in 12 innings
Hopefully the team has turned things around and we'll make a run in conference play

It’s a young team with talent so playing freshman and sophomores bodes well for the future

So finally, we play three games with none being on Sunday
Guess what happens we win all three games
Bats finally came alive against a terrible pitching staff
We start at the season 1-18 and now stand at11-21
We are in seventh place and need to get to sixth place to be eligible for the CAA tournament
After our terrible start, this team is finally putting it together. Kudos to Coach Clark on developing two reliable pitchers

We played Saint Peter's yesterday
This could be classified as a throwaway game
Coach Clarke started two pitchers who normally don't pitch for us
We jump out to a 6-1 lead then after leading 8-3 Saint Peter scores five runs to tie it up
Shall we bring in Carly and she shuts Saint Peter's down for the rest of the game as we score? 3 more runs and win11-8

This team who is 10-2 in their last 12 games is really playing well. We have a .275 batting average in the CAA which is 30 points higher then last year and we have a team ERA of 2.57 which is fourth in the league. We're young and hungry and have speed that we use to take extra bases. I believe this team is coming together at the right time of the year.

Unfortunately, for this coming series with UNCW may be a total wash since it's expected to rain all weekend long

With rain predicted for the entire weekend on Long Island why didn't the CAA and you and UNCW, along with Hofstra not move the venue to North Carolina

The games will be played in the rain unless it rains too hard. With all our money we should build an indoor arena, lol!! Hofstra sky dome!

So we take 2-3 from UNCW and leap frog them in the CAA standings. We run rule them in our two wins winning today 9-1. We have now won 12 of our last 15 games. Won series against Delaware, Campbell and now UNCW AND swept Drexel. Next we play Charleston who is right above us in the standings at 12-6 we're 10-8 and on the move. We lead the CAA in doubles, 3rd in RBI's and fourth in Home Runs. Need to keep the momentum going 6 of our starting 9 are hitting over or near .300. As a team we're hitting .290 in the CAA.

After losing 2-3 to S.B. last week where we should have won 2-3 we need to win 2-3 from Monmouth who has a bad record and is a bad team. Emma Falen pitches a GEM today with 15K's and no hits. We win 4-0 and need just 1 more win to get into the CAA playoff picture. Congrats to Emma!!

We punch our ticket into the CAA tourney with a 4-1 win today over Monmouth. Carly Ernst on the hill goes the distance giving up 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 6. She's now pitching to an ERA of 1.83 in the CAA. Quite impressive for a freshman. RBI's by Morse and Tyler Douglas along with some aggressive base running by Lily Yepez and some sloppy play by Monmouth. GO PRIDE!!

Ernst and Falen combine for no runs 4 hits,RBI's by Villar and Butler. We play Charleston 3 seed opening round of the CAA tourney on Wednesday. We finish 20-26 and 15-12 in the conference. So we hang in by a thread as we lose the opening game to 3 seed Charleston but come back to beat and ELIMINATE sTONY bROOK. Yeah for the 3rd consecutive year we eliminate them. I don't think we know who we're playing yet today in a double elimination tournament. GO PRIDE!!
