They haven't had much luck in the tournament under Speedy with teams that could score with the best of them but not play much defense.
Much longer path this time, but let's see what happens the other way around.

Historically, Hofstra only loses in the CAA tourney under Speedy to teams that are seeded at least three spots lower (lost as a 3 seed to No. 6 Charleston, lost as a 1 seed to No. 4 UNCW, lost as a 3 seed to No. 7 Stony Brook), so today's game with 11th-seeded Hofstra vs. 14th-seeded NC A&T should be no prob.... uh oh.

Are they conceding that they can't make a run in the tournament by pressing this early? Save those legs!

This is embarrassing to watch. Any other opponent and we'd be down double digits by now

shots are finally starting to fall.
this really should just be a warmup game.

more parnell 3's and less from decady please
parnell might be able to open up the paint a bit for davis and aranguren if defenses have to respect his shot

Wow Cruz almost outscored A&T by himself there in the end. In a real deja vu statement, if we can't hold this lead....

We lead 39-19 at halftime. Davis scored 18, and the rest of us made one-third of their field goals. Aranguren shot 1-7 and scored 4, but contributed 4 assists (which led all players) without a turnover. Graham, Plotnikov, and Nikolaos Chitikoudis tied for the most rebounds with 6. We are more than doubling NC A&T even with players with bad statistics. Farmer committed 2 fouls without scoring, Sunday committed 2 fouls in 5 minutes, and DeCady missed 3 shots in 2:28 without scoring. Parnell played our fifth most minutes. NC A&T used two subs who did not play recently, so they did not try to play with the same five for the whole game. We had 9 assists and 2 turnovers. NC A&T had 2 assists and 7 turnovers.

Edit: The video has technical difficulties while we lead 48-22. Davis has 19, and Plotnikov has 14. NC A&T used walk-on Jordan Martin, who entered with 3 games played. 25 of our 40 attempts are threes. Plotnikov leads all players with 9 rebounds. He could have a double-double with 20 points.

Boy did we start out cold. Thank goodness our opponent is this team or we might have been buried early.
Kudos to Cruz for taking charge, playing a great game and also German with his hustle. Hope he comes back next year.
We can use his leadership.

Unlike the game at Delaware that had technical difficulties for the whole game, the video came back. We lead 53-30. Plotnikov made a three to get to 17 points. Gadsden came in, so he is available. Aranguren twisted his ankle. We can win today without him, and he only scored 6, but I would not want to play Monmouth or anybody else without him. If he cannot play against Monmouth, I wonder if Parnell would get his first start.

Edit: We lead 54-30 at a timeout with 11:46 left, and Aranguren went to the locker room. Given how often players transfer, he could be done playing for us. We have three players with 1 or 2 minutes. You see that when teams bring in players in the last couple of minutes of blowouts, but I would think that would be unusual to see with 11:46 left. Jahnathan Lamothe has a majority of NC A&T's field goal attempts, and their only other player with more than 3 attempts is Jalal McKie, who would not have started if Camian Shell was available.

Scary thought but at one point do we play Sanders and keep Decady out there. Time to rest some players hopefully without jeopardizing the game.

We lead 67-35. Plotnikov shot threes 7-11 and leads all players with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals. He just blocked a shot with 7:26 left to make a media timeout. Davis scored 19, is on the bench, and will probably rest for the rest of the game and not get a chance to score more than Plotnikov. In the second half, Davis shot field goals 0-3, and free throws 1-4, but we are still +12 in the half. Gadsden had a three-point play and then made a three, and scored 6 in 5 minutes.

Edit: Sunday committed an offensive foul away from the ball to foul out with 7:07 left. He had 4 points and 3 rebounds in 11 minutes. Aranguren came back from the locker room. If he can play, it would be nice if Claxton lets him play a little more to show fans that he is okay.

Yeah we're approaching save some energy for tomorrow territory. Nice to get to that point for once!

Fingers crossed on Jean. That would be some brutal bad luck in a season full of it

is Sanders even on the bench? Just listening to this one. You would think he's be seeing some PT.

Our lead peaked at 32, and NC A&T ended on a 20-10 run to have us win 77-55. Plotnikov led all players with 23 points, tied Nikolaos Chitikoudis for the most rebounds with 10, and tied Parnell for the most steals with 3. Gadsden was our third leading scorer with 8. He entered for the first time with 12:34 left, and did not leave. Aranguren and Graham tied with 6 points. Graham had 6 rebounds. Aranguren shot 2-9, and had 5 assists, which was second to Davis's 8. Robinson scored 5 in 9 minutes, but shot 1-5, and missed the first of a one-and-one. Sunday scored 4, Parnell scored 3, and Farmer scored 3. DeCady had no points and 1 rebound in 9 minutes, and he blocked a shot with 47 seconds left. Jayden Henriquez played the last 46 seconds, and immediately fouled before NC A&T could inbound the ball. It was his second game. The fact that he came in and Sanders did not makes me assume that Sanders was unavailable. Our bench played 70 minutes. Plotnikov passed Robinson for fourth on us in points per game. We had a great ratio of 19 assists to 5 turnovers. We shot threes better than twos, and shot free throws 10-17 (.588).

Jahnathan Lamothe led NC A&T with 21 points. He shot 8-27, and the announcer said we defended him well. Efstratios Kalliontzis was NC A&T's other double-digit scorer with 13. He had 9 rebounds, which was second in his team behind Chitikoudis's 10. NC A&T had only 6 assists, 3 steals, 4 bench points, and 2 points off turnovers.

Here are the Analytics tab leaders. In efficiency, Plotnikov was first with 31, Davis was second with 23, and Kalliontzis was third with 18. In game score, Plotnikov was first with 22.8, Davis was second with 19.1, and Kalliontzis was third with 13.9. In net points, Davis was first with 15.2, Lamothe was second with 8.0, and Plotnikov was third with 3.4.
