MBB Game 26 Thu, Feb 13 @William & Mary 7 PM

Post by Jojogunne »

With just six regular-season games to go, we limp down to to Williamsburg, Va., on Thursday to face William & Mary for the second time this season. The Tribe beat us 76-52 on Jan. 2 in our first conference game of the season.

Both teams are in tough stretches, having both lost eight league contests. We've dropped three games in a row (Campbell, Northeastern and Stony Brook). Our record stands at 12-13 and 4-8.

Meanwhile, the Tribe have lost three of their last four, to Campbell, Drexel and Delaware. However, they did manage to upset Charleston. William & Mary's record is 14-11 and 4-8.

FloCollege will carry the game.

Watch them win this one when no one is expecting it and then lose on Senior Day at home for NC A&T's lone CAA win.

William & Mary is 8-4 in the league. They were an early surprise in the league at 7-1 before (predictably) falling back to Earth recently.

You're right, Wags. My bad. Which makes their current stretch (1-3) look even worse.

I'd say that maybe Hofstra is catching them at the right time but it's tough to say that with their own struggles. And at 4-8, does it even matter anymore?

We need to do anything we can to stay out of the bottom four play-in. Not looking very good now, though.

With tonight's Campbell win over NC A&T, the whole league is now at the two-thirds point of conference play. With a third left, this what the CAA tourney bracket would look like if the season ended today:

(1) Towson
(8) Drexel / (9) Northeastern

(4) Campbell
(5) William & Mary / (12) Hofstra / (13) Stony Brook

(2) UNCW
(7) Monmouth / (10) Delaware

(3) Charleston
(6) Elon / (11) Hampton / (14) NC A&T

Hard to beleive we are only 1.5 point underdogs to the Tribe, according to ESPN. I know they have some injuries but that line is awfully low considering our performace against them in Hempstead

I almost fully expect them to play great tonight and win, and later see NC A&T avoid a winless regular season in conference play with a win on Senior Day in Hempstead. It would make sense for HU this year and for this conference, wouldn't it?

Farmer AND German starting starting, Gadsden we'll see if benched or out. 7th different starting lineup this yr per the school. Hopefully more than just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic...

So first possession of the game, we double team a kid averaging 5 points a game to leave the best 3pt shooter in the conference WIDE open. Is the coaching staff that clueless or are the players that dumb?

Looks like they learned nothing from the last time W&M embarrassed us

Down already 10-3. A few bricks from Davis in the early going

DeCady over Sunday against this team is a rare W for the coaching staff. Watching W&M make open 3 after open 3 with Sunday camped in the paint in the first matchup was one of the most aggravating self inflicted mistakes all yr in a season full of them.

Now can we stop trying to reach in on drivers and leaving kids wide open on the perimeter? Three 3s for W&M in first 9 minutes directly due to that

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a completely uncontested three hit the side of the backboard like that…

This team has lost ALL confidence. Every pass is a half step too slow and every shot is a half second too quick. It's really tough to watch

I couldn’t believe it myself and he had just missed another open 3.
