It's funny how in the post presser Coach Atkinson was asked about the importance of the Sunday game and she downplayed it saying its a learning experience for us not that important to beat them in January?? I was a little shocked to hear this almost like she was conceding this game?? Every game becomes important come tourney time since you don't want to have to play the extra game.

Agree tc - I was surprised to hear that comment in the post game too.

During the halftime interview Coach Bogia said people keep underestimating them - I’d rather go with that mentally going into the game thinking they can play with anyone in the conference.

Stu I think Corbett is out for a lot longer time then we ever imagined. If she was on the bench she was in street clothes.

Yeah - I don’t know where that week comment was but she was in a boot last night and saw her limping at the men’s game today too - don’t anticipate her back for a bit.

Saw her today as well, I was walking right behind her at halftime - "limping" is a bit of an understatement! She was struggling to walk while keeping one leg completely stiff. She will not be playing anytime soon.

So we went up against the #1 team in the CAA NC A&T yesterday. I missed the first half but watched a lot of the 2nd half and was impressed how we hung around and actually led by 2 at the half. This was mainly because NC didn't shoot well from the perimeter and Emma was in a groove and scored 11 points in the half. We stayed competitive thru 3 quarters only down by 4 after 3 but the roof fell in during the 4th quarter. This has happened all too often as we get outscored 24-9 and lose by 19. Most of the game was much closer then the final score but got no offense in the final frame and played lackadaisical defense. Emma finished with 14 points, Sterling with 8 but 6 turnovers and Ayen Angoi scored 8 points and looked quite athletic playing her first game for us. I don't know anything about her but she could be a big help to us as we wait for Corbett's return. TOO many players on the court for us not scoring eg Swint,Fargo,Carter and Alarice without a point. Swint did have 8 boards and a block but we gave up a lot of 2nd chance points 13 and 42 points in the paint to our 2 and 16. We got outrebounded 46-29 and the only thing that kept it close was our 3 points shooting and their lack of 3 point shooting. They dominated in all other aspects of this game!! With Corbett we will be more competitive in these games against top tier teams IMO.

Ladies let one get away to UNCW. They led most of the game but fell apart in the 4th and lost in OT.

Swint was 7-8 for 14 points. Kieta had 12 and Sterling and Von Essen had 11 each. Good to see Corbett who was eased back in with 13 minutes. Unfortunately her 1-4 at the line down the stretch hurt.

I found it hilarious that the announcers kept mentioning how poorly UNCW shot FTs and how that was the reason that they were down most of the game. What they NEVER mentioned was the discrepancy in the amount of attempts which was 22-8 favoring UNCW. Clearly got a home whistle and definitely factored into why they won.

I thought the same thing Pride the big girl for them I think hit 8-9 and wound up with 22 points. The 4th quarter has been our achilles heal at times for this team. I watched the 1st half but didn't see the 2nd half yet. We turned the ball over 20X with 6 of those turnovers credited to Sterling. As good as a player that she's she needs to protect the ball better. Quite a few unforced turnovers in the early going on travels. Just inexcusable. The difference in the game when you just look at stats was their 18 points off turnovers to our 4. We limit that and we easily win this game. We shot 44% and 38% from three and had 40 rebounds to their 36. We should have won this one like Pride said. Too bad but now that we have Corbett back this is a very deep team with plenty of talent at all positions!!

This team for the most part has played good D and has been competitive most of the season. Yesterday was the equivalent to the mens blowout vs Campbell. Right out of the gate it didn't look good as we bench our leading scorer who picks up 2 fouls a few minutes into the game. Carter comes in for her and there really is a dropoff. It got so bad they had to put her back in before the period was over. We finished down by 14 after the 1st quarter and of note Sterling who picked up 2 quick fouls in the 1st quarter played a total of 26 minutes and didn't pick up another foul. There was nothing positive to report in this game a total embarrassing blowout without a real explanation other then us getting our butts whipped by a team that's talented on both sides of the ball. Their major scorer went off for 30 points Taryn Barbot IDK the last time someone scored 30 against us. Emma fouled out playing 26 minutes and was 2-9 1-8 5 points a terrible game for her and Chloe who had 2-10 1-3 scoring 7 Swint led us with 8 points. They scored 30 points off our turnovers to our 4 points. Need I say more!! UGLY We lose 73-42!! Time to regroup Coach!

Yikes - I didn't see it and when I came across the final score, it didn't seem worth going back to watch. Sounds like it was over after the 1st quarter. The team has looked much better this year, so hopefully this was a blip and not the start of going backwards. Hope they can right the ship.

Yes don’t know what to say it was lost in a heart beat and the benching of Chloe didn’t help but I get it. It was MUCH MUCH MORE THEN THAT!

What I also neglected to mention WAS that Corbett didn't see the floor in this debacle! STAY TUNED!!

So again so close against Stony Brook in a score that looked more like a football score. We were up 21-20 at the half and we were getting good play from Corbett who looked good but just playing like an animal which is a two headed monster as she fouled out but contributed 9 points and 5 rebounds in just 14 minutes. Emma who had a poor shooting night had 7 points on 2-13 shooting. I think the reason we lost this game 47-42 was two fold poor FT shooting hitting 4-10 and the fact that Chloe got injured after playing just 5 minutes.S.B. went to the FT line 19X hitting 12. Coach said Chloe was kept out for precautionary reasons. Another huge game for Keita who had 18 rebounds and 9 points playing 33 minutes. Swint 8 points and 5 boards playing 23 minutes 6 points for Carter who had a respectable game filling in for Chloe and 2 foul game for Pounds playing just 1 minute and turned it over 1 also. She has showed signs of being a really good player so this was an anomaly. With a healthy complete team we will be very competitive come CAA playoff time IMO.

This game was hard to watch
Both team shot under 30% overall
Why they probably played decent defense neither the team could hit a bucket to save their lives
I think we went something like 7 1/2 minutes without hitting a basket that's not gonna cut it
Neither was scoring 42 points in the game

The inept offense has to be addressed
Last year we scored 56.6 points per game
This much improved team is only scoring 57.8 per game this year
Where is the great improvement?

Yup - we made the trek out there and it was not a great game to watch. The offense just doesn’t flow as well when Sterling isn’t in. She is a good PG and a playmaker so defenses have to respect her and play her tough opening up other opportunities. Anyone else playing point doesn’t have that ability.

Sterling and Corbett have been the difference in this team winning this year IMO and when one is out they just don’t have the scoring to keep up. Von Essen was smothered once Sterling went out. They tried to play in the paint at that point but they had too many turnovers and poor shots.
