They are gassed and settling for terrible contested long jumpers because they can't create.

There are probably more students at this game than at a Mack game.

1-8 on three pointers in the half, regressing to deep threes and leaving the pnr game, maybe because of Rok's ankle.

Some defense would be nice. If we can't shoot, at least stop the other team from making everything.

We've missed 10 straight shots now. We stopped driving inside and getting to Gustys even though that was working.

This is an excellent game. These teams are fantastic. I think we all could have predicted this would be an OT game.

Well folks I congratulate the Pride on what was ultimately a strong year. I'm proud of the caliber of character that our guys have, and I'm happy to support this team. We knew what our flaws were and UNCW exploited them. Thanks to Juan'ya Green, Ameen Tanksley, Denton Koon and Malik Nichols for representing the blue and gold. We're gonna miss you guys.

OUCH. This HURTS. Wow... Really sucks.

Hard to win a title when you're top guy plays poorly, and then add poor games by BB and DK - that's 60% of your team not performing in the biggest game of their lives so far

Very very sad for these guys - can't describe how much this one hurts. 2 absolute heartbreakers 2 yrs in a row.

It sucks to fall short, especially in a pretty predictable way. I hope we learn and grow from this. The one shining positive I take away is the play of Buie--I'm going to go out on a limb now and say this guy has the potential to better than Juan'ya. Every time he stepped on the court this year the team seemed to play better. I know we expect next year to be a downturn but I think we'll be reloading rather than rebuilding.

Sheez cmon, stop with that, no one has any interest in the frIggin NIT 5 min after a brutal champ letdown

This ones gonna sting for quite a bit. Let's allow some time to deal with what just happened.

Check back end of week and maybe we'll be ready to talk about the consolation.

Buie is also much better defensively than Juan'ya. They're different players though. He may be thin as a rail, but what he lacks in bulk he makes up for in quickness and that could be an x-factor next year.
Also not to be overlooked, Gustys set a CAA tournament record for rebounds.

Why would the NIT give a home game to a program that does not have a consistent large home attendance? The majority of NIT games are on weekday nights when the NCAAT games are not scheduled. In the past few seasons, HU's largest attendance has been on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I would be very surprised if HU was scheduled for a home NIT game. The NIT field and seeds are determined on Selection Sunday after the 68 NCAAT bids are given out.

Chris Flemmings is the tournament MVP. Our player of the year got outplayed by a walk-on.

My heart is broken for the team, especially the seniors, and the entire Hofstra community. We've been through so much in the past decade of basketball, we deserve something nice. That's why my mind immediately went to the NIT. It's a heck of a lot better than the joke that is the CBI. As Jerry Beach just tweeted, "If we didn't care it wouldn't hurt".

Hofstra missed 3 free throws in each of their last two games. It was the first time Hofstra played consecutive games with 3 or fewer missed free throws since Hofstra made all 15 against Delaware on February 26, 2011, and made 19 out of 22 against William & Mary in the CAA Quarterfinals on March 5, 2011. Hofstra had five sets of consecutive games with 3 or fewer missed free throws that season.

Boy, this one stung just as much as last year, if not more. It sucks going into a game and having the hopes and expectation of winning it and going to the NCAA, but god I sure hope that I don't hear one negative thing about this team or coach. With a CAA player of the year, the record breaking year that Rokas had and even Bernardi had in the beginning of the year, the amount of potential that this team has and the amount of passion and commitment they showed all throughout the year is quite commendable. We have all watched some rough years of Hofstra Men's Basketball and Mihalich came in and turned this entire program around into a CAA Regular Season Champion team, NIT bid, CAA player of the year, All 1st Team Rokas, Second Team Ameen. We made it to the Championship game and took it into overtime and literally to the last seconds. I don't see the NIT as a consolation, I see it as a stepping stone for the NCAA tourney next year. Mihalich has changed this program and at least turned the conversation of "post season" into an actual discussion. This team is the best team we've seen in a while, and you know what? Maybe even potential NIT Champions. We don't know. I just sure hope I don't see or hear any negative comments about this team, or even today's game, or about Mihalich. It sucks and is a pure heartbreaker, but I give this team a lot of credit. There is some serious talent on this team and they are at least coming away with an CAA Regular Season Championship and NIT bid, and did a lot of record breaking this year. They should be proud, and we haven't seen anything like this in a while. This is just a stepping stone to the team that Mihalich will build next year. There is MUCH potential in Rokas, Buie, and Jamall. The Seniors did us well, and Mihalich seems to have an eye for talent. I trust him and can't wait to see the team he builds for next year. It was a remarkable season, with still more basketball to be played!

The team played their hearts out, and maybe their best basketball of the year for the first 30 minutes of the game. But fatigue predictably caught up with them at the end of the 3rd game in 3 days. This one hurts bad but I'm sure is crushing for the seniors.
