Season Ticket Holder Event 10/30
Thought I would create a new topic for this. Surprising that some people didn't know this was going down.I had posted about this event a while ago after being told about it at the practice. A sparse crowd nevertheless probably due to the Yankee game but I thought good energy from the people that showed. I won't go into the usual coach talk by both coaches after the initial meet and greet. I was able to get some info. re this years(mens) team and even though Speedy has downplayed expectations initially apparently this team is being touted as a lock-down D team. They scrimmaged against Sacred Heart apparently not a great team but held them to 17 points in the first half. Also played Manhattan and won that game by around 15 points. Sanders had a big game against S.H. but didn't score as well against Manhattan. Starters will presumably be Graham, Gadsden, Sanders, Davis and Aranguren. No shocker there and heard that the player to keep an eye out for in the early going is Decady who has impressed a lot of people and had quite a few points in the Manhattan game I believe. So plenty of things for us to look forward to as we near our first game.

I have to say, I love this program! So much fun last night - wonderful coaches, kind and amazing young men and women, and just a nice staff! Feels so welcoming and looking forward to a great season! It’s a really special community and it looks like they’re making a lot of effort this year to raise the bar with a full promotional giveaway schedule, stronger advertising, and good community connections.
We make the tournament, I’m hopeful that we get 101 and 102 filled with fans at next year’s Meet and Greet.
You can see how much Speedy loves this community and I can’t see him leaving, at least I hope he becomes our programs lifer.

Also for those wondering, the big raffle give away this year was a pair of tickets to the Seton Hall Game!

Thanks for the updates on this event. Decady news is exciting, been a long time since we had a promising freshman with real size. Do we know if he's an actual post player or more of a Dubar type? At any rate, German, Sunday and maybe Decady now as depth pieces should make for most size we've had off the bench in a whiletriplec2195 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 7:13 am heard that the player to keep an eye out for in the early going is Decady who has impressed a lot of people and had quite a few points in the Manhattan game I believe.

I believe I was told he will play the 5. I was told he reminds some people of Devonte Cacock who was a great player at UNCW AND WHO PLAYED ON THE 3X3 TEAM THAT WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN VEGAS with JWF.

That's some high praise! Cacock was a beast, had a cup of coffee in the nba too.triplec2195 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 2:19 pm I believe I was told he will play the 5. Yup Cacock 6'7 but played bigger Decady an inch bigger. If he could turn into a Cacock that would be great news for us.

Can't wait to see him live.
