Up to 1562 according to verbal commits, with over 100 entering since the national championship game ended.Wags wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 11:55 amAt this point (with the CBI and CIT done, the NIT down to the semifinals, and the NCAAT down to the Sweet 16 and down to the Final Four by Sunday), there aren't that many teams left still playing in tournaments and usually, the vast majority of transfers are in March and then decline a lot after that, so we've likely already seen the majority of who will enter the portal for this year, although there will still be some in much smaller numbers through about August (usually how it works).triplec2195 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 6:51 am 1089 transfers in the portal and growing as we speak. This number from V/C. I don't know how accurate that number is but this number will explode I would imagine once the tournaments end. So we need 6 players and with these numbers it would seem like this would be easy for us to fill but in reality with everyone shopping will it be?? Also will we have any more defectors?
Although it seems like a lot because of some of the big impact to teams and a league we know well with HU and the CAA, it's really been a significant down year for the portal.
As of two days ago, I saw it was over 900. Even if the 1,089 or something closer to that is accurate as of today, this year pales in comparison to the last three years:
2012: 1,687
2022: 1,649
2023: 1,815

Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
So obviously nice start for us with Cruz Davis, but if anyone thought Charleston was gonna take a step back with Chris Mack think again. Here's the 2 guys they landed today:
- Derrin Boyd: SR guard from Lipscomb; averaged 17.6ppg, shot 44% from 3 and was 2nd team ASun
- Lazar Djokovic: 6'10 Freshman from Xavier; averaged 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.0 steal for Serbia's FIBA U19 World Cup last June
Also NC A&T lost Landon Glasper to the portal now. So White and Brzovic are the only 2 remaining players who made an all conference CAA team last yr that are returning

Dstone made it official, heading to Tennessee. Wish him the best of luck. The system sucks, but can't fault or begrudge him at all. Just have a different SEC team to keep up with this year

Of course wished he had stayed but best of luck to D-Stone. He had some huge games this year and at times played better then Thomas.
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
So how much NIL $$$ will Dubar be getting? Estrada made over $500,000 at Alabama.
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
Wishing him luck but my prediction is he'll have nowhere near the impact Estrada had.

Good for DD - was a good solider here at HU - can’t see him playing Outside - Guard in the SEC
But with his size and athleticism I see him in a different role - I guess he’d be a beast on team that has him finish out on the break with a team that pushes the ball.
Dont know much about the style of play that Barnes/Tennessee runs.

Here is an interesting transfer hitting the wires...
SEYDOU TRAORE from Manhattan...
6'7" Freshman...from NYC...Averaged 12 PTs/8 Boards and 2 Assists - shot 80% from the line - started most the games he played...
i think we can find a spot (as we did for Coburn and Dubar)

Looks like Manhattan was planning on building their team around him. https://gojaspers.com/news/2024/3/27/me ... right.aspx

This is showing on the hofstra portal tracker IDK how up to date it actually is but does show some kids making visits. If we could somehow land that kid Deng we would be in a very good place. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... li=1#gid=0
