MBB Recruits 2022
Re: MBB Recruits 2022
Not sure if already posted, but cool find on Farmer:

Young man had some serious heat about him at one point. A bit outdated at this point I imagine, but hopefully an indication of potential.

Good post Pride but is he committed? He made an official visit here but signed?? He has numerous offers including Seton Hall, VCU, George Mason etc. https://youtu.be/nWL4aSvqn4sPride97 wrote:Don’t know much about him, but 6’11 is a good start

Great stuff in here:

This seems like it's in our grasp-- go close it down Speedy!“I’m grateful to earn an offer from UCSB,” Manyang said. “UCSB likes my skill set and the impact I can bring to the game, as well as my height, effort, and energy. Hofstra, La Salle, Siena, and others (continue to stay strong in his recruitment).
Manyang has already taken unofficial visits to Hofstra and Siena, as he got a chance to watch Hofstra’s practice and a scrimmage at Siena. But he also mentioned that there are schools that he will be visiting soon but nothing has been set since he just is getting back from his injury.
But after he takes his visit, it doesn’t seem like the 2022 senior center won’t take much longer in making his decision.

No issue as long as people out there are interested in this program that is a big plus. We should have more people posting but things are quiet right now but probably not for long.Cards wrote:My badtriplec2195 wrote:I already posted that ! Lol Just sayin!!

Re: MBB Recruits 2022
Comes from a traditionally strong program - def can't teach that size. Agree, he's athletic, can handle the rock, is a borderline 3 star, top NJ kid, and has some nice mid major offers: UCSB, VCU, Siena, Saint Louis, Bryant, Charlotte, UMass, George Mason, NJIT, Seton Hall, and Manhattan. That's the perfect talent level that HU needs to go after, and battles they need to find ways to win.
Looks like Speedy is going to go up against a few interesting staffs here... Great job getting him on campus. HU seems to be in a top group for him (?), we will see how well this staff closes on a desirable HS big with some solid competition.
Here's another really good writeup on him from 2020, I'm presuming pre-injury, on Zagsblog - this fella def has skill, obviously great size, and a very high ceiling only playing hoops for 3 years so far:
https://www.zagsblog.com/2020/08/03/bla ... -interest/
I really like that he's focused on his all-around game, and seems to have the desire and work ethic to improve in every facet - talks about mid range game and defense - that's a breathe of fresh air. Already can shoot the 3, pretty decent touch esp for a C, and runs the floor well, so it's great to see more growth in the works in the other areas of the game that matter most.
Having said that, is this staff and program only capable of recruiting guys who are injured or coming off major injuries?!? lol
I mean, let's get some kids that are healthy please. We don't need every incoming to be some big risk or prayer every year. I know it's a strategy to sneak in and pull talent that may not normally choose HU, and that's all fine sprinkled in, but it seems like nearly every player now - this program has pulled in strong A10 level healthy talent before, no need for this to be seemingly the only path. Let's be careful please Speedy! Can't 'hope' your way to a championship. You gotta recruit and win some DAY 1 players ready to impact next season.
Land this big fella, and then get some immediate PT guys on the floor who are ready to play and win NOW! Hopefully / maybe Manyang would be too!

This was already posted in transfer portal topic by CTDUTCH. I think you're now the second person posting this here, lol. HofJudge also posted it and then removed it. I posted a comment to his post and then removed mine. A comedy of errors, good ones that's!!

Great get...now lets land Sean Durugordon
Re: MBB Recruits 2022
Love this pickup. Lots of other good programs were after him (Seton Hall, Umass, VCU, St Louis, and others). He's a big kid with big wingspan. Even saw a video of him shooting a reasonably smooth stop and pop 3 pointer (although he wont be doing much of that at HU). I think the 20 minute workout video (posted above) shows how good he could (will???) be. Coming in a s a true freshman, wow, can't imagine him after a few seasons of D1 ball!
Great job Speedy and staff!

Nice exposure on Zagsblog:

We also have FR Khalil Farmer from Philly coming in next fall.
Would love us to add an experienced PG to handle the ball and play lock-down defense.
