Kinda shocked that Wagner could even land a kid like this. He got almost no minutes at Wagner. Anyone know the scoop on him??
Cards maybe another Andre Walker getting only 5 minutes a game. If he had a 4 star skill level he would have been getting major minutes unless there's something else that doesn't meet the eye here.

Well, yes, thats exactly why I was asking if anyone knew anything. Was he recovering from injury? Was he way overrated? Something else?

If he is legit, maybe he's a talented center who is not hung up on only going to a P5 school. Thats what originally got my attention re this kid.

Now that our coaching staff is intact the clock is ticking so let's see them land the starting replacement for Kante. We already have a bench player who's a one and done now get the guy who can give us big minutes! Big shoes to fill here guys time to go to work.

Reasonable targets for us given who's left in the portal, tried to think about players who had some kind of tie to the area but also included some from big schools who may just be hungry for guaranteed PT:

-Josh Gray, LSU. Putnam Science Academy grad leaving an SEC school after 1 year of no playing time...sound familiar? This is the dream pickup.
-Miroslav Stafl, Hartford. Played 27 mpg on a tourney team, but Hartford is now disbanding their program and going D3.
-John Bol Ajak, Syracuse. Received a bunch of prominent regional offers out of HS (Nova, UConn etc) but clearly isn't cut out for that tier of D1 ball.
-Jermaine Hamlin, Illinois. No PT in 2 years, maybe has his sights set higher but if he's looking for a change of scenery, he could really prove himself here.
-Lucas Kraljevic, Boston College. Went to Don Bosco. Got pretty minimal time in 4 years at BC but maybe makes more sense at the CAA level.

Like the research. Hope one comes to fruition

Good info. Roll Pride especially Gray and Stafl and Gray is from Brooklyn. We don't need another one and done here rather a kid that will grow with our other kids who will be here 3 to 4 years. Stafl is another good choice who would be an immediate starter here. I didn't know that Hartford was going D-3!

Was just going to mention Hartford... how crazy. D1 to D3?? Don't recall seeing that before... side note, Traci Carter, the one-time stud PG transfer HU was recruiting heavily, decided to do a grad year there. Not any more I imagine. We don't need guards obviously, but would def kick the tires on any of their bigs.

And yeah, would take Gray all day of course - a few interesting players on that list, some exciting options out there - let's see TP work his magic.

On a side note Broward CC where Adrian Uter came from has dropped their entire athletic programs I wonder if Bob Starkmann the mens BB coach is still coaching or did he retire

David Green has now entered the transfer portal and wonder who will be next to join him?? I'm really more interested in who will be transferring in to be honest!

I see HU is going to work on the bigs offers... TP out there hitting the trail - go get em!

I think we know the exits, but as you said TC, all about the entries!! TP needs to land that stud transfer while he's preparing for the future with these offers. #1 priority, land a starting impact center. Nothing else matters more right now IMO for this staff.

David Green officially listed on transfer portal. Interesting to see where he goes. Somewhat of a disappointment last year...guess he saw the handwriting on the wall...Kvonn Cramer has that spot for as long as he wants it.

Josh Gray's name mentioned in another topic so I'll try and bring back this thread where it belongs. Right here. So Stu you bring up Gray at 6'11 and 255lbs. but is there any connection out there to HU or are we just wishful thinking here. It does sound like he could be dominating in the CAA so does anyone have any real info. on that we have been pursuing him??

What makes Gray such a great fit is he has NYC and LOng Island ties. His family is from Long Island so he is the missing piece of the puzzle. He has at least 3 years eligibility left a playing time almost guaranteed . Also being coach and mentored by Tom Parrratta will only make his transition seamless.

An athletic - local - big - with 3 years of eligibility - sign him up. Sounds like we'd be a natural fit for some like him.

I like the bucket list but are we even part of the conversation??

Yes I would think there are about a half dozen local area teams looking at Josh

Yeah it's wishful thinking until we have more info...it's possible we aren't even in the conversation.

I do think we make sense though. He'd get unlimited PT here with a strong cast of guards to feed him opportunities. I understand a mid-major isn't always at the top of these guys' lists, but they should be more often. Plenty of times you see a guy bounce from one P5 school to another and not move the needle there either.

Here's an article about Josh from 2019. I had not heard of the Knox School out on the East End. He barely played at all at LSU, so maybe the possibility of major minutes here would influence his decision.

Checked his profile on Verbal Commits and St. John's was listed as one of the original schools that recruited him. Wonder if he's in the mix for them.

Has anyone seen a list of schools he's considering???
