Texas is maskless now. NIT might get wild.

And at a time when Texas has 11 of the 20 worst counties nationally as far as Covid cases right now and with Houston being the first U.S. city to have all of the different variants. We. Just. Don't. Learn.

Wouldn't the best political reason be to keep your own citizens as safe as possible? There's a reason we (by far) lead the world in Covid cases and deaths, and we only have our own foolishness to blame. I wouldn't go anywhere near that NIT. Hopefully, that tournament will turn out fine as far as Covid - if so, it'll be by pure (literally) dumb luck, not because of being smart in any way.

This should be played in the Hofstra huddle before each Hofstra game and in the locker room at each halftime during the upcoming CAA tourney.

How could the team not be pumped to play after seeing this?

One of the BEST tributes I have ever seen! I can think of only one video that could possibly top it, Coach Joe speaking to his team. I hope our Coach is recovering, and we all wish him and his family the best. Coach, we are all thinking and rooting for you.

It's a change from the normal order. Normally the 1 seed plays the first Quarterfinal and 4 vs. 5 is second.
On the plus side, another change from the usual is that the CAA tourney often occurs during daylight savings time weekend, but this year, DST is the following weekend. That's good because 11 am is early enough. If DST were this coming weekend, that 11 am game would feel like 10 am.

Still has the potential to be an ugly first half and possibly an ugly game. Not only an 11 am start in an empty arena and Hofstra's first game in three weeks, but it'll be Delaware's first game in five weeks.

This is clearly a game where the jury is out in terms of predictions so who will offer up a betting line on this game. That could be interesting!!

Anyone have the TV schedule for this? Don’t see the games listed on NBCSN’s tv schedule.

The CAA hasn't been on NBCSN since 2015-2016. Like last season, the Semifinals and Final will be on CBSSN. The first two rounds require Flo. https://www.tvpassport.com/tv-listings/ ... 2021-03-08 has CBSSN's schedule for Monday showing the Semifinals at 6:00 P.M. (when we play if we make it) and 9:30 P.M., and the Final is Tuesday at 7:00 P.M.

https://gohofstra.com/news/2021/3/4/men ... aware.aspx is our preview.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sites/ ... game22.pdf is our Game Notes. Cramer needs 4 points to become our tenth freshman to score 200 in the CAA. Antoine Agudio leads with 452, Charles Jenkins scored 436, and Kenny Adeleke scored 433. The Game Notes are 53 pages and end with the results and statistics from all of our CAA Tournament games and our player records for one CAA Tournament.

Delaware has not written a preview yet.

https://www.flohoops.com/articles/69116 ... ect-ending is titled "CAA Championship Preview: Unpredictable Tournament Is The Perfect Ending" and is by Jerry Beach.

8 seed Elon is having an easy time with 9 seed Towson. Towson never led, and Elon led 30-24 at halftime. Elon improved so far in the second half, and they took their largest lead at 50-31 with 11:11 left. After the media timeout, Towson made free throws to go down 50-33.

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=340267 has statistics.

Edit: Elon won 69-48. Towson's leading scorer, Zane Martin, did not play. Their second leading scorer, Nicolas Timberlake, scored 14 today and was their only double-digit scorer. Towson used all of their available players, and Justin Patterson came in with 2:08 left for his first game of the season. He's a sophomore who played 27 minutes last season. Towson attempted only 10 threes and made 1. Hunter McIntosh led Elon with 13, which was under a fifth of their points. He shot threes 1/8 = .125, and his teammates shot threes 7/19 = .368. Towson entered with a rebounding margin of exactly +3 per game, but Elon dominated 38 to 26. Towson's most rebounds were two players with 4. Hunter Woods led all players with 8 rebounds. There weren't many assists with 10 by Elon and 4 by Towson. Ikenna Ndugba led all players with 4 assists.
Darius Burford was Elon's second leading scorer and the third and final double-digit scorer on the teams combined with 11.

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=340268 will have statistics for William & Mary (7) vs. UNCW (10) at 7:00 P.M.

I wonder if the CAA was the only conference to have every team finish at least 2 spots away from where they were in the Preseason Poll. UNCW was picked eighth and finished tenth. Everyone else was off by at least three spots. None of the teams picked in the top three finished in the top three, and the two teams other than UNCW picked in the bottom three did not finish there. James Madison was picked ninth and finished first. Towson was picked fourth and finished ninth. Northeastenr was picked seventh and finished second. Us, Delaware, Drexel, and Elon did three spots worse than where they were picked. Charleston and William & Mary did three spots better than they were picked. A majority of teams were off by exactly three spots. The average spots off was 3.8.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1scXPvKx4Ug has highlights of Elon's win over Towson.

I linked to tonight's statistics in my previous post, and 6 minutes before the game is supposed to start the starters aren't given.

Edit: The game started, but the statistics didn't. http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=340268 still has the pregame page. https://www.flohoops.com/live/26350 is the link to watch if you pay for Flo.
