That's assuming we can find better players. We've had quite a few whiffs these past few years. How do we even know what we have on the bench?

You can't have 13 stars in the program...we need role players, practice players, projects, etc. And yes EVERY programs whiffs on kids...because that's what they are; kids.

I've said in other threads or maybe even this one that you can expect one of the bench guys to leave this year, freeing up another scholarship.

Completely agree HUSID.

Really can't have more than 5-6 talented experienced players. Can add to that maybe a few freshman who are talented but have little experience. Rest of the roster are role players and practice guys, and walk-ons. Without this type of balance, guys would be leaving due to lack of playing time. Good to hear about one expected transfer out.

Interesting last night watching one of the top programs played an entire game (and won) with 6 players (a 7th played 3 minutes). Depth is great, but its not always needed.

2 transfer that popped up
6'5" Stony Brook - FG - A Yeboah
6'8" Lehigh - F - Pat Andree
Both have local connections - both 1 year left and immediately eligible

Both of them look like good gets and were their teams better scorers and they both shoot the three ball. I wonder what inside info. HUSID has on who we might be chasing??

I've heard nothing on the transfer subject and I usually don't. They are mostly very late pickups to fill in the blanks from recruiting.

More interesting is Drew Edwards, a 6-4 4 star shooting guard from Providence. Is eligible immediately and has one year remaining.

From Maryland area.

These kind of players are in high demand. I see that both Jeantal Cylla and Jaylen Fornes of UNCW are transferring and Cylla is eligible immediately as is Justin Pierce. The kid from Stony Brook would be a good get.

Sounds like there will be an abundance of talent available via the transfer circuit....

As has been stated on these very boards, the CAA kids would have to sit out two years if they transferred to another CAA school, not happening.

Where would the Stony Brook kid play? He's a bit undersized at 6-5...we're already small enough next year with a projected starting lineup of 6-7, 6-5, 6-4, 6-1, 6-1.

Assuming Taylor does not come back and one of our bench players decides to transfer out that leaves us with a total of 5 schollies...

One has already been accepted by Cramer who will red shirt next year...hopefully Burgess and Knox accept schollies from us as well...if this scenario plays out will be very interesting to see what staff does with remaining two schollies [transfer, HS SR., JUCO, ?? }...

CAA player transfers are only brought up I think to get an idea what the complexion of the league will look like this year. I really don't think that anyone expects kids to transfer inter-league. Yeboah is listed as a G/F and shoots the three ball he's 6'6" and grabs almost 8 boards a game. I think we would find a place for him maybe spelling or starting ahead of Coburn if he isn't bringing it.

Yeboah has only one year of eligibility left. I would rather see us recruit transfers with two or more years remaining.

Ideally yes but still options to consider.

Akwasi Yeboah is a take ALL DAY long - in a heartbeat if there's a chance he would come here.

I want to focus on players who are going to get this team to the dance. Don't care if they are 1 yr or 4 yrs. And this is that kind of player. Perfect 4 size at 6'6 230lbs, and a superb versatile skill set. Can literally hit the deep 3 with consistency, can play back to the basket in the post, has a nice handle to drive and attack the basket, can pass, create his own shot, and rebounds. Not positive about FT's and D, but I'd bet both are in range. Plays with confidence and actually attacks, something sorely missing here. And he shines in big games and big spots. Kids a leader.

TC could easily come off the bench and be a big spark as he has done before, and could actually fill that 6 man role quite nicely backing up both the 3 and 4 instead.

Another note regarding Knox, I don't have huge hopes he comes this way. He was supposed to choose between GMU, ODU, and HU back in Nov/Dec, and his family and coach all said wait for something better. That's not a good sign. He's had interest from VCU, Temple, and others. I know JM wants him bad and is personally on him, but I'm not super confident.

And frankly, I have some light concern that this kid was used as a CENTER this past year, totally out of position just because his team needed one. Love that he's a team player of course, but I have a lot of doubts about kids that play out of position in HS and then have to make the transition at this level. He's spent a year with his back to the basket, and he will do nothing of the sort here. Still huge potential, other side is it shows he's versatile. But these kind of things can really go either way...

Burgess and Brunner on the other hand, at least 1 is 100% a must get.

I would take Yeboah in a second!! He can shoot and rebound. I am tired of watching opposing teams play volleyball around our basket...so many points in the paint on second and third chance shots...this is the curse of so many mid majors when they play up in class.
I hoe he would consider us.

I'm with you guys on Yeboah I think he's a no brainer. He was the leading scorer for S.B. averaging 16.7 points, playing 31.8 minutes shooting FG% @ 41.9%, F.T. % 77.8 and 3 point % at 32.3%. Just like J.T. he could make a big impact here and help us get over the top in this league. Like Polito said its about getting back to the NCAA tourney and whatever it takes as long as we're keeping the program integrity here.
