Been an entertaining game. Very close, lots of lead changes and ties, JWF stepping up like a star player should.

Have to give both sides credit - each could easily not be up for this game after the disappointment of having to settle for this tourney, but each is playing it with the effort and energy as if it's an NCAAT game. Easier for NC State to do that at home, much harder for Hofstra to do that, getting on a plane and playing in a hostile environment. So, under the circumstances, proud of what I've seen from them so far. HU up 34-33, under 4 left in the first half.

Did what we had to do offensively. We need a contribution from Eli in this game. A decent half for us.

gotta keep up the energy. A real winnable game. Pemba disappointing (forcing his game - offensive fouls).

We should be up by 7 or so...can't do that against quality teams...but, up at the half...opening minutes of second key.

Clemons: 14 pts on 18 shots for Campbell, at UNCG.

JWF: 17 pts on 9 shots for Hofstra, at NC State.

This is the biggest reason he'll be missed. Not just a good scorer, an efficient scorer.

Not comfortable at all, Pack played terrible and yet still only down by 3. This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy. Thankfully they don't play a lick of D either. But HU needs to step up more here to take this on their floor.

Eli has totally regressed, very disappointed. Not a must have per say if others are picking up the slack, but his play could be the diff maker either way. Hope he wakes up. Because I would bet we see some serious changes from the Pack in the 2nd.

Hope JM and HU are up to a few tricks of their own, doubt it will be the same as the first.

Defensively, neither team was good, but NC State wasn't terrible at all offensively. It was an entertaining, close half that Hofstra controlled toward the end. As a 9-pt underdog on the road against a good P5 program, I don't think that was bad at all.

The start of this second half, on the other hand, better be put to rest quickly. NC State getting momentum back and the crowd in it, forcing an HU timeout. Have to respond here or it can start snowballing and get away in a loud, cozy arena like this.

Pretty much a total choke from Eli and Bryce hurting us just like the old days.

2 pts, 4 fouls for Hofstra's second-leading scorer, yet they're only down two.

Killing us on the boards on both ends not even close . The difference in this game right now.

Just getting crushed on the glass - way too many second chances.

As he did in CAA, Eli shrinks to the occasion...need to get Justin the damned ball!

Hard to do so. NC State doubling him and forcing the ball out of his hands. Others are going to have to step up. Still hanging in though, on a Buie 3 and a Dwyer bucket on a goal tend. 62-60 with 10 left. Buie is having a good game. Shame Pemberton was a no-show. I think that's going to be the difference in a fairly close loss. Hope I'm wrong.

Mid-major vs. a good P5. Typical. No shock there. 38-24, on the glass for NC State.

Would be in it without a terrible call on JWF. Even the PxP guy noted he saw no contact. Instead, three FTs to up the NC State lead to 76-68.

That is HUGE right now with JWF going to the line after the under-4 timeout. Could've had a chance to cut it to just 3. That call will factor in late. Shame.

No Pemba and no boards = loss.

Its a shame because this was a P5 team we could have beat. Gee, I wonder why we get no respect when seedings are set.

We had better hope for a new Pemba next year or its going to be a long season.

Plenty of questionable on state too, that’s silly losing team talk. Keatts took HU and JM once again and they played like crap - if you don’t think so read their boards - they slept through this and still eeked it out. Almost! Coulda been! So close! Oy vey

Already said my piece on Pemba. Buie played better.

This is just what it is - every one of us knew what was going to happen, we just try to hold out hope. Burned every time - that’s why I said we’ll see...

Said before, hard luck. Chance to tie or take lead and CAA POY throws errant pass to a wide open Dwyer under the basket - Buie feels the need to rush a 3 just because he’s open with not a single blue shirt under the basket - I mean the boneheaded things we see from talented srs is baffling. This is the peak under JM. Get used to it till he retires or Cole has the nads/power to make a big move. Better than some, but never the best when it matters most.

Season was a cool story at least. I bet next will be too. It’s all the same. Weak conf and some returning talent and upper class men. Looking forward to seeing Kante. Can already envision the season outcome though. I bet they win 20 or so games - and nothing else that matters. Groundhog Day program. Again could be worse, but ain’t gonna be better.

Good luck to JWF, I think he gets his shot in the league which is great for him and HU.

Will check back in for recruits and softball. Good night folks.
