Eh, you're prob right, but I'm holding out hope on JT until it's truly official either way. I think there's a shot!

Kante is not a 40 min guy, and neither is JT. Either way HU will need 2 key guys in that role. Would be awesome, and allow HU to really battle more physically by the basket.

Although my bet is when HU makes the dance, that would play a factor - he'll prob feel very at peace with this part of his life at that point, and be happy to move on. And I would be perfectly fine with that as well!

If JT wants to play in Europe this current year has really helped him...if he were to stay at Hofstra another year his stock would go up even higher...love to have him back next year not only for the basketball but seems he's a class act and appreciates his "second life."

Not sure if we've seen this article yet, but a good one on KVonn Cramer - this kid is going to be a BEAST when he steps on the floor in 2 years - big time get for HU. Of note, confirms he has a redshirt year already built in, and that he is 6'7 :D = full salivation! Say hello to the future:

That's a very informative article thanks for posting it so we have a long wait to see what Cramer looks like for us. I'm sure its for the better and he will come in 100%. Looking forward to seeing this kid.

Great article. Cramer looks like a hard working guy that’s already dealt with adversity. I think he’s the character guy we’re always looking for. I didn’t know it was such a serious knee injury, I like the idea of a redshirt year, see if he can get it back to 100% and develop a perimeter game in the time off.

High risk, high reward. I wish Kvonn well on his continued recovery and look forward to seeing him play down the road. Should be a man among boys by then.

Are we close to signing anyone else?

Here's an interesting one and done candidate; Pierre Sarr, a 6-8 195 pound PF from Monmouth is transferring. Has one year left. Have not checked out his stats yet.

Here's his stats from Monmouth you come to your own conclusions ; 2017-18 (Junior): Played in 23 games, starting four in his junior campaign… Averaged 3.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per night… Had five points and two steals on opening night against Bucknell (11/10)… Went for four points, five rebounds in win at Lehigh (11/14)… Totaled season-highs in points and rebounds with nine of each against Manhattan (1/5)… Followed that with seven points, seven rebounds at Niagara (1/12)… Was a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line in eight-point night at Manhattan (2/10)… Snagged seven rebounds against Saint Peter’s (2/13).

2016-17 (Sophomore): Played in 31 games as a sophomore, starting four… Shot 52% from the field, third highest on the team… Finished the season averaging 3.1 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per contest… Snagged career-high 11 rebounds against Cornell (11/22)… Went 5-of-6 from the foul line and picked up three boards along with seven points at Wagner (12/6)… Collected six rebounds in back-to-back wins over Army and Memphis, deflecting away final pass in win over Tigers (12/13)… Netted career-best 16 points and six rebounds in win at Niagara (1/14)… Had eight points and six boards in MAAC quarterfinals vs. Niagara (3/3).

2015-16 (Freshman): Played in 25 games as a true freshman… Scored 32 total points and shot 48% from the field… Made collegiate debut at USC (11/16)… Netted first career points against Dayton from the foul line and picked off four boards (11/27)… Hit first two career field goals and snagged four rebounds at Canisius (12/4)… Added five points and three rebounds at Marist… (2/9)… Made a major defensive impact in comeback win at Rider in addition to scoring four points (2/12).

BEFORE MONMOUTH: Helped lead Roselle Catholc High School team to a 26-4 record as a senior and the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions title... Roselle Catholic, under head coach Dave Boff, won the Union County Championship as well... Averaging 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for a team that went 21-10 and advanced to the semifinals of the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions as a junior... Became second Monmouth recruit to ever win a TOC title (Jhamar Youngblood with St. Patrick High School in 2006)... Transferred to Roselle Catholic after spending his first year in the United States at Westtown (Pa.) High School... A three-star recruit, ranked 43rd at his position.

PERSONAL: Born Pierre Leopold Sarr in Dakar, Senegal... Son of Luc Nickel Sarr and Nadane Ndiaye.

HU shouldn't be turning its nose up at any recruit, especially one recruited by a program as good as Cincinnati. Let's not let this year's good fortune go to our heads.

Interesting article on Sarr:

https://www.app.com/story/sports/colleg ... 788947002/

Looks like Monmouth pulled his scholarship last June, but not for academic, team violation, or legal issues, just strictly basketball.

Sarr doesn't appear to be much of an offensive threat, if we recruit this guy, what does it say about Schutte and Hughes? They can't even give us backup minutes next year?

I'm like the GM of a pro team, always scanning the waiver wire...we have had good luck with one and done transfers and he caught my eye. Nothing more to this than that...Quiet week for us HU fans!

FD I wouldn't assume we r not going to get backup minutes from both Schutte and Hughes. I definitely feel Hughes may give us some quality minutes and his size is a big plus especially if he can shoot beyond the arc.
