Although HU hasn't a single win that outsiders would consider true quality, and it squandered a big opp to grab one up at NU, the biggest thing for them is there are no bad losses. That's a very big positive.

But the no signature wins will negate any chance for an at-large - and no more chances for any - HU must absolutely win this league to dance - only way in is to cut those nets baby!

JWF can solidify his legacy by being one of the few to lead his team there. And I hope we all get to witness it!

Marshall is in danger of becoming a bad loss. Before losing 78-51 at North Texas last night, they were down to 151st in the NET. They have lost 5 of 6. All 5 losses were to teams above them in the NET (now, they may have been below Marshall before the game), with 4 of them away. The game was on beIN Sports (which shows Conference USA), and I DVRed it, but I didn't want to watch any part of it after I saw the score.

Yeah, really surprised at the performance of this Marshall team - with Elmore, another good scorer I forget his name, and a decent group around them, their season doesn't make sense - but just goes to show just important leadership and team chemistry are - I have no clue, but it's a good guess that maybe those elements are missing in some way...

Certainly isn't helping HU.

And VCU, this is the worst year in the A10 in recent memory, NOW you guys decide to not dominate?!? lol - don't you dare allow MASON to win it, that program has been a shell of it's former CAA self since the year they left - get back on track!

Pulling for them to win it and for the Terps to progress. Would help HU a bit - at large isn't happening, but might help NET and NCAAT seed when the time comes

I just watched the March Madness predicted brackets on Channel 2 and they have us as a 13 seed playing Louisville a 4 seed in the West bracket. If we get in hope we wind up with a better seed then this. How tough a draw would that be for us!

Elmore averages 19.9 points. The other big scorer is C.J. Burks, who is averaging 18.0. As I posted in the out of conference opponents thread, first place Davidson lost to Massachusetts, who entered with 1 Atlantic 10 win. VCU is trying to win by as much as we did on Thursday as they lead 63-31 at St. Bonaventure. VCU will tie for first with a win, but Davidson has the tiebreaker because they won hosting VCU, and they don't have to go to VCU. They're the two southernmost schools in the Atlantic 10, but apparently they don't play twice every season. VCU is slightly south of University of Richmond. George Mason is tied for third.

ESPN has us with 12 playing Iowa State in Hartford, and facing Villanova if both teams won their first game. ESPN has VCU as an 11 in the First Four and playing Maryland in the Round of 64 if they reach it.
