Top 25 Players in the Nation: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... basketball

21. Justin Wright-Foreman, Hofstra Pride

Joe Mihalich's team hasn't lost a game since Thanksgiving weekend, and there's a slim but still reasonable chance that the Pride could keep that streak going all the way to the NCAA tournament. Hofstra's star is certainly helping those chances. Wright-Foreman is the focal point of this offense for a third consecutive season, and the 6-foot-2 senior has never been better from beyond the arc. Most memorably, he hit the 3 at the buzzer that gave the Pride a win over Northeastern at the beginning of January. This weekend, the Huskies will host the return match, but even if the win streak is snapped, Wright-Foreman is on a roll of his own.

With all of the media attention that's been (deservedly) going to the team in general, JWF, Eli and Joe, here's a different one - on Ray, out of his home state:

Some really fantastic coverage of late, not just in the high level of the outlets, but the quality - someone else mentioned, that NCAA article is one of the best I've read on this team and program this season.

Lot on the line on Sat - IMO a W there, pre-season favs on the road in a revenge game where many prob think the streak could fall, would be massive toward proving just how legit this squad is, and catapult their shine to the next level.

I expect a tough one. But first time long time I actually believe this team is ready and fully up for it.

Big Play Ray, looking forward to his impact the rest of this year, and his upper classman years as a Jr and Sr. Extremely talented player that is just scratching his potential, will likely have a similar jump from this year to next like JWF did with starter level PT. Was a very big get for HU. I actually think the bigger challenge for HU next year is not necessarily replacing JWF, obviously very tough but Ray should do a very admirable job, but it will be replacing Ray and finding that next great 6th man.

Figures the Knicks would have to do something like trade Porzingis right as Hofstra Hoops is getting all of this great attention.

They had us in the third group of three and separately gave us a 13 seed. That's worse than other websites. https://www.si.com/college-basketball/2 ... a-st-johns says:

"HIGH FIVE

5. Hofstra: With star guard Justin Wright-Foreman doing a little to a lot of everything, the Pride are undefeated within the CAA, posting the league’s best efficiency rates on both end of the floor. Junior forward Eli Pemberton has scored 20-plus points in four straight games."

Hofstra was the only mid-major of those five.

Maybe Kramer, but I'm figuring he's going to RS. He prob should considering he has forgone his entire Sr year to get healthy. Long time off, needs to get acclimated to D1, HU, and the CAA.

In that case it will need to be someone else. And they will DEF need that player, vital piece in HU's best years (Green's last with Nichols, and this one w/Ray). Unfortunately I don't think it's ST or Radovic at this point. Neither have displayed anything close to those other two guys. Perhaps an incoming, or a transfer up their sleeves...

13 seed is too low. If HU takes the crown in Charleston, this is a 12 seed team at worst - if they do so undefeated, an 11 is very reasonable.

I agree. The brackets are based on now, not the best seed a team could possibly get. If we win our next 12 through the CAA Final, we could get better than an 11. The best seed by a CAA team was Navy as a 7 in 1985-1986. Navy as an 8 in 1986-1987 and George Mason as an 8 in 2010-2011 (when VCU went to the Final Four) are the other top 8 seeds by CAA teams. The best seed by a CAA team still in the CAA is UNCW's 9 in 2005-2006 after they beat us in the Final.

Welp, was def fun while it lasted. Can bet the hype is going bye bye now. Not going to have to worry about any of those distractions anymore. But that could be a very good thing. We'll see...

Make or break moment in the season, right here - respond, or fold, ain't no in between.

The hype will decrease, but if we win the CAA Tournament I would hope our streak gets mentioned during the Selection Show. If we win the CAA Quarterfinals, I expect our streak to be mentioned on the Semifinals (and Final if we make it) on CBS Sports Network.

As expected, the loss at Northeastern drops Hofstra out of Andy Katz's Power 36 this week: https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-me ... nged-top-5

Later today, we'll see what happens with those 9 AP votes HU got last week.
