Who names their son Tanksley?
Re: MBB recruits 2015
I'm really pushing for more of the 6'6-6'9 size for the next 2 recuits; however, I will say this kid looks like the exact right fit for JM's system
He's long, athletic, smooth, plays good D, can attack the basket, can score from anywhere on the court, and can effectively play 3-4 positions - AND he's a high character guy (good student, citizen, and work ethic) that's the current HU mold to the absolute 'T'
Had a great HS career, went to Liberty, didn't do much or maybe didn't get the chance to, transferred to JUCO and is having a great season - redshirted, so he's that extra yr older than his class like many other HU guys - I think he's of the sleeper mold who could be a major impact player (even a future star), just needs right system and guidance - think he could really flourish with JM at HU
Wouldn't surprise me at all if this one comes on board - could be a steal - but still need a POWER FORWARD!!
P.S. the Tanksley kid (Wes's teammate, is a top JUCO player, 3 star going to UCF

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Malique Trent a former Norfolk state commit who now plays JUCO has been offered. He's a 6-2 guard
Re: MBB recruits 2015
both these guys look pretty talented - looks like they can score from anywhere and both attack the basket well. I'm kinda partial to the 6'5" guy since our two high school commits are in the 6 to 6'1" range.
In fact, the attached link is a highlight of Trent. Funny how he almost looks/plays like a JWF with a year more experience.

Re: MBB recruits 2015
another guard? interesting... curious to the plan with these smaller guys - this team needs 6'7-6'9 players - minimum 6'6 IMO
Alas, I will say this Trent fella looks like a beast, doesn't look like a 2 star and competition looks decent - he attacks, plays fast and aggressive, and I saw him do everything from drive, dunk, dish, create space, shoot the 3, hit the pull up jumper, block shots, rebound, and assist... that pretty much covers it all lol

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Could one of the recruits redshirt and we go after one big?
Re: MBB recruits 2015
Coming into transfer season again, wondering if HU has any interest in that area...? REALLY want to see some big man action in this class - whether HS, JUCO, or transfer, I don't particularly care, just want to see them land some real talent in the 6'6-6'9 range to balance the team...
Re: MBB recruits 2015
I'd go a step further and say at least 6-7- 6-10 we need height and depth at the forward and center positionsPolito wrote:Coming into transfer season again, wondering if HU has any interest in that area...? Re: MBB recruits 2015
agreed, all for that! It is a MUST they land the appropriate talent in the post in this class
Also, just want to say again that I think J W-F could be an absolute star for HU - kid does it ALL - potential all-conf team leader from day 1 - and if he redshirts next yr to get that extra development time and chance to get comfy and learn JM's system, watch out

And having a stud PG like Buie to feed him, another potential all-conf guy, WOW, this is an exciting backcourt future - land those bigs and HU could be setup for major success over the next several years

Re: MBB recruits 2015
I'm really starting to think HU may go for a transfer, or JUCO, or both to fill out the class...
ANYONE hear any rumblings?? I know they've offered the Wesley Alcegaire fella (who I do think is a great fit for JM's system at the wing position)
But as we all know, the need is really 6'8-6'10 range

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Polito when you are talking Bigs for a mid major the JUCO or transfer route is best for the school. Very few 18 year olds are ready to play D-1 basketball as freshmen. Rokas I believe is 21 so physically he is ready. Also having a true power forward gives JAM more flexibility on how he wants the game to be played. Helps us with matchups.
Re: MBB recruits 2015
We won't hear much right now...remember last year nobody knew about Rokus until very late in the recruiting year.
Re: MBB recruits 2015
Makes sense - getting curious because this it's 2nd semester transfer time, so lot's of movement surfacing...

Burnette was at the game today
Re: MBB recruits 2015
Interesting...
Signs seems to really point to them bringing in a 6'6-6'7 wing/forward - guess that's a priority piece for JM and crew
REALLY want to see an athletic 6'9ish PF though - this team desperately needs some help in that dept, in THIS class
