I wonder with all the transfers that just happened via the portal it took the wind out of some peoples sails but we still are in a far better place then we were last year at this time. We need to keep the enthusiasm going and help in any way possible moving this train forward with all the NCAA excitement which is sure to help our recruiting this coming year. The signing of a 7' big right out of the gate speaks volumes because we all know bigs are the toughest players to land. Hopefully a sign of things to come in the off season.

Guys for those that aren't going you're going to miss out on a good time
As of now we got about eight
Also, I'll have some breaking news after talking to the coaches on the visits that are happening as we speak right now

Yes was nice meeting some die hard fans that I didn't know especially Polito who had a totally different demeanor as the guy who sometimes can get overly passionate on these boards. Look forward to more events.

AWESOME time last night - Stu you da man - great group, great food, and a visit from a shared friend in the AD who took time out of his evening with his family to hang and entertain some of our nagging questions lol

For the out of staters, you were there in spirit for sure - definitely want to see more of the locals on here - this is a very important time for this fan group to further unite - let’s double it next time!

Tc, was great hanging with ya, appreciate the comment - I get intense but not half bad when ya get to know me :)

Look, we need each other and we need the HU admin - I’m not going to always agree with things and will likely never be satisfied with the pace of change and improvement, but things are getting better and the U is starting to finally engage

Last night we got confirmation that we are good with Speedy for awhile, and that he was touring a G from the Chicago area… looks like we landed that commit today! Also confirmed HU is working to be in the top group in the CAA for NIL - we want to hang with the W and CofC - there are goals for this year and we need this fanbase to grow and to support - a lot to be done to achieve the goals but the key for me was HU is finally on the right track - no downgrading here, we are moving ahead to compete in this conf

Lots of other great topics too - looking forward to the next one!

Would love to hear what the AD had to say about the men's lax program. Speaking of nagging questions.

I asked that question since nobody else would and his answer was that we're undefeated referring to the woman's program who r no longer undefeated after getting mauled by S.B. today. Then he talked about the mens program which I didn't take in everything that he said but believed he said that the coach is active in the community and has set up individual donations for each player etc. Others can add to this I'm sure. Not the answer we were looking for.

Yeah tc brought it right to the table, kudos, I proudly maintained my composure lol - the feedback was that ST is truly a standup guy who you would want your kid to play for - he runs a clean program, kids all graduate, helps them all get jobs and get setup in life

My only comment on that topic (as I felt the need to ease into it with HU in time vs tell them bluntly right off the cuff) was that I have heard from several others similar feedback on him, and that’s great to know, the only thing is… he ain’t winning and that’s a problem. The response fairly was ‘you ain’t wrong’. :D

So they aren’t blind at least lol. I think HU knows full well the bad situation, but I continue to get the impression they aren’t able to move on from him for one reason or another - there’s no way you can let the repeated failure happen without some reason hampering change - so unfortunately it does feel like he will be here until he moves on himself, which isn’t inspiring

Much appreciated Stu for organizing the event, finding the venue, and the fun time had by all.

We had the deputy AD/CRO join us. Great to get some info as to what's going on, things that don't really need to be private (e.g. pitino I know and is public knowledge that he has a contract at St John's that runs thru 29-30... why are we left to speculate how long speedy has a contract for? Pitino goes out at a press conference and says we need to go door to door to raise 5 million, yet we had no idea what hofstra is trying to raise or what their budget is for NIL). Tried to impress on him that they can be better with this. Knowing that the staff is working hard and caring like we do will really help with engagement and growing the fan/donor base.

As for the lacrosse question, I don't think it was done this way at all TC, and don't think anyone pushed anything too hard at all either..but in general these guys are not going to be thrilled to show up if we're like why is this coach still here, get rid of him, etc. They read the boards and know what the sentiments are. I think it's important we keep a relationship with any staff that do come to the meetings that they want to keep coming back.

This is a good idea. I'll set this up for the next get together, should have a folding laptop or tablet we can use.

IMO the question was fair Cactus but wasn't done in a interrogational way and it was funny how he diverted right away to the women's lacrosse team. But you're very right these people in a sense are doing us a favor so we need to keep it friendly and gracious at all times. Polito behaved himself and that was a positive. Lol

Yeah would be a good idea wish we were getting that kind of student engagement right now. Looked like a massive crowd.
