It will be annonced in a couple of days but it looks like we will land Tanner Thomas a 6ft6 wing who is the yoynger brother of Tyler Thomas who played for us
I understand we made a 6 figure offer for him

Our first player showing in the portal with just intent to transfer is Brandon Morgan. I know little about this kid so this intent certainly is of no major importance to us and I don't believe he played at all. Good luck to him.

You're right. He didn't play at all and reminiscint of this other player we had a few years ago who was injured all year but was introduced on Senior Day and then transferred. I think his name was something like Wilcoth or something close to that.

The challenge HU will have is we need to spend some solid dough to keep Cruz and Edmead, so we'll need to be very smart and picky with where the rest of the dollars go (however much that is, I don't have the insight). So we certainly won't be going out and paying another POY - although, wow, could you imagine that team?!

In the post we need a guy like GMU's Riley Allenspach, transferring - 6'11, 2nd Team All-A10, 13.6 pts and 6.1 rbs in 25 min/game, and can legit hit the 3 - now he'll likely command a pretty penny likely out of our range, but just looking at the overall 'mold' of the player - don't know about his defense, but generally we need a big that's going to stretch the floor and he's a sizable fella that can really move

In conf give me NC A&T wing Lewis Walker all day long! Baller freshman 6'6 wing, transferring - leading scorer - wishing, he's likely headed to a power program for a nice bag

Anyhoo, just exciting types of players we need to find for our level for next season - these are very likely too proven and pricey, but players with this kind of ability and upside is what we need to hunt down - good thing is there will be a TON to choose from once again this year

He actually does have eligibility left (1 year) and hes currently in the portal.

That said Stus favorite holiday is April Fools. This would be a weird one though.

2nd player in the portal for us... AJ Wills. Know he fell out of the regular rotation, but I liked his game. Played hard, solid D, could make a 3. Should easily be able to find a comparable if not better player to replace him though.

Best of luck to him. Maybe he goes down a level and gets even more playing time

He showed that he can play. Has one more year to get genuine playing time.
Good luck to him.

Definitely a solid guard who rarely turned the ball over and who could stick a jumper. Good luck to Wills and Amir Williams. Williams never saw much time so it's hard to comment on his play.

Seven slots to fill? Three bigs and four guards?

AI predicts up to 450 bigs to eventually enter the men’s basketball transfer portal. Can we get at least two really good ones?

Absolutely we can and we should. Need approx two guys 6'10-7 feet, two wings 6'5-6'9 range, and likely two more hot shooters 6'3-6'5 - give or take in each area till we fill the open slots

At least IMO :)

Tough to hear the news on Edmead but the guy hit one of the 5 biggest shots in program history. We sure as heck don’t make the dance without him. Best of luck to him and wherever he goes I’ll be rooting for him.

Ah damn. Heartbreaking, but really can't say unexpected despite the stories at the end of the season. He earned every cent of whatever absurd bag a P5 school is gonna give him. Hopefully Jaeden Roberts stays now. And we trust in Speedy to find the next guy. All we can do in the current world of CBB.

Best of luck to Edmead, and thanks for the memories.

He said he wants to play close to home. Maybe he’ll wind up at St. John’s.

Just finding this out and really a gut punch. So everything that was said by Edmeade not wanting to go anywhere else and that this was the best decision of his life this apparently was all words. I'm more apt to believe that this was the April fools joke but definitely a very disappointing day for Hofstra basketball. Just blown away.
