Was at the UConn game. A packed house and a great atmosphere. The current and prior administrations if not outright hostile to athletics are at best indifferent. It is obvious and that is why I don't trust them one bit. Sorry to say that but it is true. If you look at the excitement and interest gen...

There is no economic, aesthetic, academic, or other good reason for tearing down Shuart, building a "campus village," or a new north campus stadium. Zilch. This is a con job by some developer/consultant married to bad decision by the administration. Sorry, I just don't see the point.

HP1. I don't trust the administration one iota. They are demolishing an historic structure named after a man who devoted his life to Hofstra, while keeping the law school named after a convicted felon and debarred attorney, whose crimes were particularly despicable. Not a good look. Bernie Madoff wa...

LaValle was built in the 2000's not the 2020"s. My mistake.

Thanks for posting this HofstraPride1. My favorite part is Cole saying "James M. Shuart Stadium has built a reputation as one of the premier athletic venues in the region." That, I guess, is why Hofstra up until this announcement was planning on ripping it down and putting up I don't even ...

News to me and, it appears, most people on this board. Strange is right.

Spot on Wags. That omission is disgraceful.

Really hurts. Damn.

According to D1 Dockets Colgate is reporting playing Hofstra, Vermont, and Merrimack in Hempstead so it appears that Hofstra is holding some sort of MTE this year.

Ha! Found it. The Mississippi game was in Deland, Florida. So the Jackson State game is likely the only appearance in Mississippi.

Thx. I recall that Hofstra beat Ole Miss in 1990, but think it was at a neutral site the location of which beats me.

Wow. Has Hofstra ever played a basketball game in Mississippi?

D 1 Dockets has HU opening at LSU in Baton Rouge.

Will Jay Wright attend the Bucknell game?

Yeah, Polito. This is where the loss of Edmead hurts. We'll see.

is this kid Nick Jefferson from Nevada signed or not? He's dropped out of sight.

I agree with you Stu, but i put nothing past these people. Shuart was built in 1962 i think at 1962 prices. Tearing it down and putting up something not close to comparable would cost a fortune as you point out. Not to mention that Shuart is an historic structure on many levels. All for what? A pede...

Was on Inside Lacrosse and one poster stated that Hofstra is deemphasizing lacrosse (meaning men's lax) and that Tierney has basically given up on recruiting. Not sure where he got that from or who he even is but given the state of the program and the results on the field can't say he's wrong. Poser...

Congrats to Stony Brook on its CAA championship and NCAA appearance. Once again, as i have been saying for years now, what Tierney, Metzger, and Cole have done to Hofstra lacrosse is a disgrace. Worse yet they seem shameless or oblivious to it.

If the players (f/k/a as Student/Athletes) are now employees - who is the employer? Thought NIL money was paid outside of the school, from Booster Clubs, and other sources, but i am not sure.
