Re: MBB Recruits 2022
Plotnikov seems like a smart pickup, 89% from the line would suggest he's got a pure shot. Gets to the line a little (at least at the JUCO level). Defense will be the test. Doesn't strike me as a PG, more of a wing that spaces the floor.

Re: Transfer Portal
I'm sure this sentiment has been reiterated a million times but the lack of any penalty for transferring really feels like it diminishes the appeal of being a fan. Teams now will always have less internal chemistry, and nearly every star player will jump ship the moment he senses a better or more lu...

Re: Transfer Portal
We really need shooters. Anyone who can hit 35%+ from three should be prioritized.

Re: MBB Recruits 2022
If you just look at his numbers they're very mediocre and he shot 19% from beyond the arc scoring 3.8 in 20 minutes. 70% from the foul line. His overall shooting was at 36%. Why would we even go after a guy like this based on these numbers?? Am I missing something? Check Coburn's and Silverio's num...

Re: Hofstra vs. Charleston, Sunday, 3/6/22, 8:30 PM
Burgess leaving is probably for the best, just not a talented enough player at this level. Bummer that it didn't work out and that we either missed in scouting him or development. Wish him the best elsewhere. Cramer is a real loss -- I know he was hurt for a lot of the year but his athleticism and e...

Re: Hofstra vs. Charleston, Sunday, 3/6/22, 8:30 PM
But like people have said and we all have said over the years there always seems to be that one guy we can't defend and that player will go off for big numbers. This is about our DEFENSE AND LETTING A TEAM SCORE 55 POINTS(half) IN a game where there's no tomorrow is just inexcusable. This is really...

Re: Elon @ MBB, Thursday, 2/24/22, 7 PM
Is there a reason Cramer just doesn't get minutes now? Been out of the loop for a little bit but feels like in a game where we were cooked on the boards we could use his physicality. I'm just surprised at how we're handling a guy who looked very promising last year and has done fine in limited minut...

Re: Game 14 at William & Mary Wednesday December 29 at 7:00
Fact of the matter is we had 5 assists and god knows how many turnovers. The offense was absolutely putrid, like it should call this entire coaching staff and team into question. A lot of kids who grew up thinking they're the next Curry and in reality they couldn't hit water from a boat. Speedy need...

What a nightmare. Unacceptable, too many people that you could blame. Ultimately this falls on Speedy. Figure it out, because these checked-out performances are not going to cut it.

Re: Game 14 at William & Mary Wednesday December 29 at 7:00
W&M has one of the worst defenses in college basketball, so instead of attacking them we just sit on the fringes and shoot bad threes, despite being a mediocre shooting team. Love it!

Re: Game 14 at William & Mary Wednesday December 29 at 7:00
Estrada is a great player but he is way too infatuated with his 3-ball for a career 29% shooter.

Re: Game 13 @Monmouth, 12/22/21, 7 PM
Great win, lots to be happy with. It does make the second half of the Stony Brook game all the more bewildering, but I hope that loss sticks with the team and fuels them through conference play.

Re: Hofstra vs Arkansas 12/18 Saturday
Nice win, it's clear that this team has the potential to be great. Consistency is the key area for improvement -- when they're mentally locked in they've proven they can hang with and outplay anyone. Pulling out the zone was a bold move and I'd love to see more of it, great call by Speedy & Co. ...

Re: Game 10 - @Stony Brook, 12/8/21, 7 PM EST
Listening on WRHU and these guys have to realize that we aren't 2012 Kentucky. Lots of talk about "playing down to their opponent" and "should be blowing this team out." It's a rivalry game in their house, they want to win just as badly as we do. This was always going to be a roc...

Definitely seems like we're managing Iyiola's minutes. But Cramer and Dubar are stepping up admirably, playing some bully ball.

Re: Game 10 - @Stony Brook, 12/8/21, 7 PM EST
Just an FYI that I posted before somewhere but Cooks has had big scoring games against them for what it's worth. We're a far better team so it would be crazy that we would lose to them. Crazier things have happened but don't think tomorrow. BTW what do u think the line will be? While we are the bet...

Re: Game 10 - @Stony Brook, 12/8/21, 7 PM EST
Massey gives us a 68% chance to win. So it's really one we should get, but it's going to be a dogfight for sure. Hoping Estrada and Silverio can stay hot and Iyiola can give us 20-25 good minutes.

Re: Game 8 - Princeton, 12/1/21, 7 PM EST
We don't have a excellent ball-control PG or a huge, dominant big man, so it makes sense that these games tighten up because we're too dependent on outside shooting in critical moments when the opposing defense has really tightened up. That said, this team clearly has talent. Dubar and Estrada are s...
