Strangely, Towson is listed as a 1.5 point favorite after playing horribly against Northeastern on Saturday.
ESPN has us as 1 point underdogs...

Conversely, Sagarin has us winning by just over 3 points...I'll take it!

Newsday says Towson is favored by 1.5, but https://www.vegasinsider.com/college-ba ... las-vegas/ says the opening and current lines are even (PK). With an over/under of 139.5, it predicts a 70-70 tie if that was possible. KenPom thinks we are 3.51 better, and if you use the home court of about 3.25 in the Sagarin, it predicts a tie if you allow ties and round the difference to the nearest whole number. We're 28 spots better in the Sagarin than in KenPom, and Towson is 29 spots worse in the Sagarin. The Sagarin has not updated through yesterday's games, but that won't change the CAA teams much. http://insider.espn.com/insider/pickcen ... /401171874 (which requires payment) gives predicted scores from TeamRankings (71.5-70.0 loss) and NumberFire (70.6-68.8 win). Seven Overtimes predicts a 70-69 win. The consensus is both team scoring near 70.

Northeastern is favored by 2.5 at JMU just like we were. The lines expect us to do 16 points worse at Towson than Northeastern did, and Northeastern to do 3.5 points worse at JMU than we did.

In other CAA games, Drexel is favored by hosting UNCW, William & Mary is favored by 6 at Elon on CBS Sports Network, and Delaware is favored by 2.5 hosting Charleston. The other four CAA games are at 7:00 P.M. William & Mary being on TV gives you a chance to scout them three days before they come to us without paying for FloHoops.

I'm a bit surprised we could be underdogs in this game and by and large it looks like its our offense against their defense. If we keep Fobbs from having a big day I like our chances. I hope we shoot far better today from beyond the ARC.

Buie has 16 of Hofstra's 22 on perfect shooting (1/1 from 2, 3/3 from 3, 5/5 FT).

Cold (0/3) start for Eli though after having his two best games of the season in HU's past two road games (with a home win in between). So maybe he'll pick it up soon today.

While we often focus on HU's 3-point shooting, it's their 2-point shooting which has hurt them sometimes this year. Today's another one of those days.

HU is a decent 3/8 from 3, but only 28.6% (6/21) from 2.

As a result, it's 36-28, Towson, at halftime.
