https://gohofstra.com/news/2018/12/17/m ... fstra.aspx is Hofstra's preview titled "MBB: The Long Island Rivalry Next Up For Hofstra."

https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sites/ ... game12.pdf is Hofstra's Game Notes.

https://stonybrookathletics.com/schedul ... ath=mbball is Stony Brook's schedule. They haven't made their preview yet,

If JWF scores double-digits in every game, he will finish eighth or better in the longest double-digit streak list. Lionel Simmons has the record with 115. Hofstra's lists down to the 20th longest streak, which is 72. JWF is at 64. If he scores double-digits in every game, he will reach 72 on Thursday January 17 hosting UNCW and 73 on Saturday January 19 hosting Charleston.

Mat (Hofstra Mathew) and I are bringing a small group to the game, we'll be in 203 row A, expecting an ass-kicking!

I hope we do put a whooping on them but will settle for a win here. They have found a way to win close games with their only double digit win coming against URI by 10. They also beat George Washington and S. Carolina. All wins that look impressive until you look at these teams closer and realize they are in rebuilding type years. This should be a high scoring affair with the over/under quite high. I haven't seen any spreads on this game but the line should be close even though they're at home. They start 4 guards and a center so we should match up well with them. Their center is 6'11' so that matchup with Taylor should be interesting. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict we win this game 84-76.

Good stuff, bring the NOISE

SBU having a good start to the season, some nice name wins, and they seem to be doing a good coaching job - HU has an opp to get a nice OOC road W here, and rivalry on top of that. Agree, the 4 guard set matchup means they will go to toe-to-toe - let's dance!

Stony Brook forum has a great and unbiased preview: http://sbufan.createaforum.com/stony-br ... -1219-7pm/

I'm looking forward to a tough hard fought battle with us prevailing at the end. I just see us having too many weapons for SB to stop at the end....Should be fun! I'll be there!

One of Stony Brook’s guards is 6’6” Yeboah. He’s a tough matchup.

He'll have to guard either Pemberton at 6-5 or Coburn who is 6-4 and plays like he's at least 6-6

Watched the SBU/Delaware game. He’s tough. Shoots the three, handles and can post up like a forward.

https://stonybrookathletics.com/news/20 ... brook.aspx is Stony Brook's preview titled "Battle For Long Island Set For Wednesday in Stony Brook."

https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sites/ ... ofstra.pdf is Stony Brook's Game Notes. They say we're second in free throw percentage, meaning they didn't check this morning that we moved up to first. The game is on ESPN Plus broadcasted by Carl Reuter (who broadcasted us on MSG in 2005-2006 and maybe other seasons) and Rob Pavinelli.

I will be there with my HU hat and garb - sitting amongst what I expect to be a sea of red. I'm going to really need the guys to play well and pull down the "W" to offset the verbal abuse I expect to have thrown my way! The sweet smell of victory will make it all worthwhile :D :D

I remember the blowout win at home a few years ago. When I got to my seats I noticed 4 heavily garbed SB fans were sitting behind me. Before the start of the game one of the fans leaned over and apologized in advance for how loud she was going to be during the game. That lasted about 5 minutes

Will watch this one from the comfort of my easy chair but will yell at the T.V. nonetheless. I went to the game last year at S.B. and was wearing my Hofstra Hoodie and didn't catch any flack whatsoever.

Newsday is pathetic but they like articles about ST Johns especially this year now that they are undefeated.

http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-bas ... gas/?s=375 said the line moved from us by 1 to even. http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_209_Men.html predicts Stony Brook to win 78-77. The Sagarin is split:

Overall: Hofstra by 1.43
Predictor: Hofstra by 2.11
Golden_Mean: Stony Brook by 0.67
Recent: Stony Brook by 1.92

I did not sample that isn't random by looking at every team in the first 12 conferences in alphabetical order. The CAA is 12th. Of those teams, Stony Brook has the fourth highest Recent rating - Overall rating, which is why that component is most favorable to them. We also have a higher Recent than Overall rating.

Stony Brook remained 15th in the Mid-Major Poll, while we got 1 point.
