Cant argue with you there CaptainCaptain wrote:I think the boss probably knows a guard when he sees one.
A couple of years ago he recruited a Philly guy. White kid with some video for us to see. Some of our fan feedback knocked the kid and maybe suggested he was walk on stuff. He now mans the point for Villanova. Maybe he sees Masic as a diamond in the rough but I trust JM's instincts when it comes to guards...see Juanya Ameen and Antoine Mason from his Niagara days. I don't think he settles when he's making his offers. At least I hope so.

Speaking of the BOSS and guards, Hofstra has inquired about superstar Div II guard Robbie Heath. The Australian has entered the D II portal. The 6-3 180 PG played for top DII school West Chester, leading that division in scoring with over 24 ppg.
School is right in Philadelphia's back yard and was a member of Hofstra's old East Coast Conference.

Re: MBB Recruits 2020
That's interesting a D2 player that probably should be playing D1 who is only a freshman and maybe wouldn't have to sit out. Not only the leading scorer but also the leading rebounder at 7.3 but only 2.6 assists a game. How do we get him on board with no scholarships to give as a walk on initially??HUSID74 wrote:Speaking of the BOSS and guards, Hofstra has inquired about superstar Div II guard Robbie Heath. He can play immediately as a D II transfer I believe. He should have three years of eligibility...as has been said before, you never know if one or two kids who did not play at all this year, or others will look to transfer...this kid is VERY interesting IMO.

Would definitely take a flyer on him. With JAM having Phiily connections I say why not Three years with him and Burgess can secure the backcourt for the next few years
Re: MBB Recruits 2020
And wasn't there a guy in the CAA two or three years ago who was a DII transfer and he turned out to be a dominant player. Maybe a shooting guard on UNCW or CoC - kid was a real force.
EDIT - just remembered. Chris Flemmings on UNCW. Two years at DII and then went on to be All CAA!

He walked on to UNCW I believe and after one season gave him a scholarship. A feel good story for an underdog. This could be the same thing.Cards wrote:And wasn't there a guy in the CAA two or three years ago who was a DII transfer and he turned out to be a dominant player. This would be an interesting get a big guy who can shoot and put the ball on the floor. He only played 2 years of college ball at Nevada then sat out so he would come in as a junior. I wonder what the chances are of getting him. A 3-4 star recruit coming out of Michigan.

OK TY see that now and for 21.6 minutes a game he averaged 5.2 points, shot 29% from three and averaged 4.1 rebounds. He was a 61% FT shooter. Not great stats that's for sure.

Better than our current back ups at that spot!triplec2195 wrote:OK TY see that now and for 21.6 minutes a game he averaged 5.2 points, shot 29% from three and averaged 4.1 rebounds. He was a 61% FT shooter. Not great stats that's for sure.

Yes and what an ugly indictment of our bench in terms of Offense however based on who will be playing this year I'm sure that we expect to get better numbers from Cramer depending on what his role will be and the kid Green then also throw in Bethea and Masic. The upside on this kid Hall is that he's not a freshman and that he would come in with a lot of game experience of course that speaks for itself. The interesting thing here and I know its been discussed but I'll say it again all of this becomes a moot issue unless we have kids transferring out. It just seems to be in the air that this is going on behind close doors and who wouldn't want to be privy to this info.HUSID74 wrote:Better than our current back ups at that spot!triplec2195 wrote:OK TY see that now and for 21.6 minutes a game he averaged 5.2 points, shot 29% from three and averaged 4.1 rebounds. Yes, very odd that there is all this apparent activity with no or limited scholarships available.
Re: MBB Recruits 2020
From the way we're recruiting (decent presence across multiple positions), my guess is a guard and forward announce in the next few days...
Miranda and Hughes?

It's an interesting guess but we keep offering SG's. So what is brewing here that all of us aren't privy to??HU87 wrote:From the way we're recruiting (decent presence across multiple positions), my guess is a guard and forward announce in the next few days...

Like a lot of us I have a little more time than usual. I looked at video of Vukasan Masic. This guy can play!
Sees the court well, can shoot the three and takes it to the hoop. I am impressed.
You can see some video on his tweet column on verbal commits that was posted on March 23rd.
Put me down as a fan already. What do you guys think?
