I think that, in most cases, Sports Info cannot mention injuries because it would be providing a student's health record, which is not public.

Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Unfortunately Tierney said in the postgame presser that Dylan suffered a season-ending injury on Thursday. Major blow for this season and I also feel terrible for him personally given how much time he missed last year.
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Terrible news. Next man up...recover quickly Mr. McItosh.
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Game day!!! good luck to the boys
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Always nice to beat the upstarts from Suffolk County....Go Pride!
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Are you kidding me? Close D has been awful this game - slow, stationary, and un-alert to say the least.
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
We lost our mojo after that scrum in the second quarter...our faceoff guy was also terrible in the second half, don't know if he any...disappointing loss.
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Frankly, couldn't watch Tierney's post game comments. They are always the same. The kids played hard, I'm proud of our team, this that and another thing and another loss. HU was totally out hustled, out skilled, out played, and out coached. We are off to another 5 -9 or 6 -8 season. Goalie made some nice saves. Defense was pathetic.
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
They are lucky to have you few still bothering.
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Hofstra goes down to Ohio State 12 - 10. Just like with Villanova they dug themselves too deep a hole to get out of. As usual Tierney's teams just play 3 of 4 quarters, although this year the 1st quarter seems to be the issue as opposed to prior years where the 4th quarter was the issue. This team has talent it just needs to jell.

So? Guys like Tierney, Altman, Wenz coming back?

They will have eligibility Its up to them
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
In a shortened season that had its ups and downs, the Dutch did end on a high note, defeating St. John's 19-9. Not the stiffest competition, to be sure, but an enjoyable game with lots of scoring.
Our starting attack -- Ryan Tierney (NY), Whit Stopak (OH) and Colton Rudd (GA) -- combined for 11 goals and 6 assists -- a fine day's work, indeed.
If you can access ESPN3, enjoy the game:

Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
Any word on whether any seniors plan to return next year with their extended eligibility? I understand that we have a solid recruiting class and given this years limited senior class, Tierney, Forte, Altman and a few others we could field a very solid team next year should we get some fifth year seniors.
Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
How about any changes in the coaching staff where it's needed? I know they won't remove ST at this point, but there HAS to be upgrades that can be made in the assistant ranks to move the dial.
COVID aside from the convo for a minute, my measure of Rick Cole as an AD for the moment is going to be how long he stands for this once proud program linger in total irrelevance and mediocrity at best. I know ST's got his political connects and that is literally the main reason he's still here, but if you want to be a successful AD you have to show you can navigate those tough waters and make moves that progress this dept.
The minute ST's contract is up, if he and this U have any true desire to be a great program that actually wins the CAA and goes to the NCAA's, he will bring Amplo home.

I don't see Amplo leaving Navy, maybe Orsen would leave for a head coaching position. I'm on the fence with Seth T. Was all for his hiring way back when but the program has definitely dropped. All the lax people who know more than I do sing his praises so this is tough. I'm for extending him through his kids graduations (his daughter is on the women's team) and see where this goes. If there is no uptick in the next two years then Cole has some tough decisions to make.

Re: 2020 Men's Lacrosse
According to FanLax, the NCAA has granted an extra year of eligibility to all spring sport athletes. Teams will be able to carry more members on scholarship to account for the incoming recruits and the extra players who choose to remain on the various spring teams. I guess this will also allow some room for transfers from other programs.
