Hofstra's preview and game notes:

This will be Molloy's 3rd game in as many days. They lost to Saint Anselm on Saturday night, play Saint Michael's today, and then at HU tomorrow, so they should be pretty tired and worn out. There is literally no excuse for us not to blow them out. D2 Saint Anselm scored 102 points against them.

Hofstra needs to come out and take care of Molloy like Stony Brook took care of USMMA [103-32]...show no mercy and take care of business...anything less then a 40 point victory is not accepatable

Molloy's tallest player is 6-9, and next tallest after him are 4 players who are all 6-5.
In their game yesterday, they had a 24 point lead in the 2nd half, and ended up losing 84-79. I will be thoroughly disappointed if the margin of victory is anything less than 30, and if Walker does not play. There's no reason for him not to play.

I will be seriously disappointed if Walker, JWF, and Buie do not play at least half the game.

You guys KNOW my expectations
And if Walker doesn't play, they need to let this kid transfer - it's ridiculous now, you recruited him, you're coaching him, unless he's gone completely rogue then put him on the floor for goodness sake, or make a statement that he's not meeting requirements - SOMETHING - this team needs DEPTH with some actual game experience - refusing to develop that makes absolutely no sense - he has height and wingspan, 2 things you can't teach - GET HIM ON THE FLOOR
This should be a MAJOR game for the new guys, and I'm throwing Koon in there as well - he needs to come out and establish himself, get on the right track - he is being counted on to be a significant contributor.

I unfortunately wasn't able to attend the first game, but caught most on the radio in transit (and the very end on streaming). Obviously was dissappointed at the effort for the first half, however, happy they were able to pull it out (something they didn't do last year). Hopefully it will be something they can build on. I get that most were hoping this team would come out hungry and focused (as was I), but I will take the win and move on.
Tonight's game should be a blow out, and if it's not, then we should start worrying. I felt the team played up to or down to the levels of their opponents last year, and I am hoping this year's team doesn't copy that. They need to establish themselves and let others try to play to them.
I'm just happy the season is finally here and cannot wait to get their tonight. Here' hoping for a lopsided win.

As I have been saying all along Walker would help to clog up lane and he should improve our interior defense significantly....he would grab some rebounds... plus he would give Rokas a breather and help him stay out of foul trouble

Walker - agree with other posts - his size, his athleticism - he has to able to get some minutes - if not now when? If Dajambo is coming back it isn't going to be then. I get this a guard driven league but how many uncontested layups did Canisius have last Friday - Walker in his first games last year - I recall - had a few nice blocks last year. I am perplexed by his lack of minutes.

There were several times last year when Tanskley would take only 5 or 6 shots in 30+ minutes when you wanted to see him shoot more.
Tonight, he takes 9 of Hofstra's first 17 shots, despite missing 6.
By now, as a senior, he should have a lot better feel on how much he needs to get his shot up and when.

7:54 left first half and Hofstra up by 7 but they are playing like crap against a small D-II opponent

Now it's only a 3 point game, and we look terrible. Only 4-10 from the free throw line, and shooting 38%. At this point in the game, you'd never know we have such a huge height advantage.

Playing down to an opponent again. The need to pick up the play. This is pathetic.

Hofstra had 3 days to make a game plan from 2 games worth of Molloy footage. Molloy had less than 1 day to analyze 1 game of Hofstra footage, and should be pretty tired. We should not be playing like this.

Our big guys are getting beat up. If we could do simple things like make free throws and all the missed bunnies around the rim, this would be a different game.

hopefully they play up to their competition in their next game as significantly as they are playing down to their competition today.
