We had two wrestlers who won their first bouts. Unfortunately Hudson our soph suffered a leg injury. he was predicted to make a run at all-american status. cody Ruggerillo our grad student suffered a loss then won two in the consolation round. he went up against Richardson in the All-American round but came up just short losing 2-0.

Former Hofstra wrestling coach Tom Ryan (1995-2006) led Ohio State to its first national championship yesterday. One of Ryan's wrestlers, Logan Stieber, became only the fourth wrestler ever to win four NCAA titles. To put Stieber's achievement in perspective, Ryan said that more people have walked on the moon than have won four NCAA wrestling championships:

http://i.turner.ncaa.com/sites/default/ ... scores.pdf says Hofstra finished tied for 35th out of 69 with 8.0 points. Does anybody know how Michigan State scored -0.5?

I am not sure of the rules but the Michigan wrestler could have been disqualified therefore a half point was subtracted from the team score. Maybe he bit the ear of his opponent like Mike Tyson did.

After thinking about it I think it may have been a team foul, like an infraction against the coach.
