So I started the thread for this season yesterday we beat High point 3-1
We are playing Connecticut right now. We won the first two sets by scores of 25.-23 25-11
After this match later tonight we play #10 Penn State
Our OC schedule this year is much harder than last year
Coach Emily mansur is challenging the squad, which is a mixture of young players and veterans

So we finish off Connecticut in the third set by a score of 25-14
After a close first set, we blew Connecticut out in the next two sets
Now we face a real challenge in #10 Penn State, which we play tonight at 6:30 PM
Good luck, ladies let's bring this upset home

They lead in the 3rd set 9-3

Hofstra did not quit lost the third set 25-23
Considering that this is the number 10 team in the country, this team fought hard and was not intimidated by them

Very impressive to play a national power that close in two of three sets. Hopefully a good omen for this team making another deep postseason run and hopefully winning it this time.

Overall a good weekend to start the season.

Agree, very good start and showing thus far, this program feels like it's re-establishing itself recently - great to see - I really need to see a match in person, never been, but certainly following and rooting them on

We face a very good team in Yale tonight
First set is over Hofstra wins26-24

I don't know anything about Yale but they come back from a 2 game deficit to win in 5. A disappointing loss for this team who are playing with quite a few underclasswomen.

Yale was #2 in the Ivy league
A solid mid major
This team lost two of their better outside hitters
We are not as deep as ladt years team
That said I expect Emily to make the necessary adjustments so the team gets better as the season goes along

One of the thing I might add if I read the stats right, we actually had 20 service errors. That's an insane amount so we wound up beating ourselves.

We just finished playing Santa Clara with much better results
They too are a very solid squad
We beat them in three close sets 25-23 25-20 25-22
Emily made the adjustment she needed to make and have the team focused for all three sets

In the second game Manhattan came in a 0-5 and left 0-6. We beat them easily scores were 25-15,25-15 and 25-20. We were able tro get some players in the game that haven't seen the floor. Stella Becker from Bellmore getting some minutes finished with 4 kills. Her first points for her now a sophomore. We're now 4-2.

Watched the Army highlights, great work by these ladies to comeback after losing the first 2 in tough matches to win the next 3! And I have to say, our court looks great, and it looked like a legit crowd - really great to see - I'm seeing a LOT of momentum in womens college volleyball in recent years, it's a big sport that seems to be growing in interest - saw Nebraska vs Missouri at WRIGLEY FIELD a few days ago, was quite a sight! Great to see HU putting out a quality product here. I'm certainly no expert, but watching more P4 games on tv, and to my "green" eyes our girls looked pretty capable.

Wildly I've never been to a match, not even during FK's time, just wasn't really on my radar - but I'll have to check it out sometime. Having girls of course has opened my world to the womens side of sports

We sweep Hampton on Friday and Saturday I record now stands at 7-3 aNd 2-0 in conference

Set scores were 25-23 28-26 25-22

Melis Barasan played her first game for us. She is a freshman from Istanbul Turkey
She joins Nil Kayaalp who is also from Turkey
At 6ft1 Melis gives us needed size and depth at outside hitter
She contributed 8 kills for us and 2 blocks.
