Just turned on the AE championship game on ESPN2. Bryant leads Maine at the half, 38-27. Bryant has the AE POTY.

Cramer came in off the bench for Bryant, has a few points. Remind me, why did he leave us?

He is the first off the bench
Also Bryants up tempo style fit Cramers style of play
Bryant has some good length at guard 6'6 6'5 and 6'7
They also have 2 centers that are 6ft11

Bryant is running away with this game. Cramer is going to the Big Dance.

Bryant's 3 best players are a 6'6 st johns transfer, a 6'6 miami/Memphis transfer, and a 6'8 st Bonaventure transfer. They were loaded

Good for Cramer kid deserves it after all he's been through. I have deep fears DeCady will be him for another school in a few years though. Our "system" sadly has no use for power forwards who aren't natural 3 pt shooters, and just like Cramer they were trying to force DeCady into being one this year. We had Cramer attempt 42 3s his freshman year... he attempted 23 combined in 2 years at Bryant

Now listening to Shulman and Bilas rave about Dubar's size and athleticism watching the Tenn Auburn game. What could have been 😥

Tennessee won 70-65. Auburn had 2 losses until they lost 3 of 4. Among other 1 seeds today, Michigan State lost to Wisconsin 77-74 in a Semifinal, Norfolk State defeated South Carolina State 66-65 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic (MEAC) Final, VCU defeated Loyola Chicago 62-55 in a Semifinal, Yale defeated Princeton 59-57 in a Semifinal, and Memphis leads 29-27 in a Semifinal. With Norfolk State's win, we went 2-1 (them, UNCW, and Houston) against teams that made the NCAA Tournament, and 11-17 (.393) against Division I teams that did not make the NCAA Tournament. Including games in progress and games today that have not started yet and tomorrow, there are 21 games before the Selection Show.

They tried to turn a 6'6 leaper into a center stretch him out a few more inches! Plus he wasn't starting.

This is cool, Cramer proposed to his girlfriend at mid court after the game. Quite the day for him!

That's great. Yeah, what a day! Happy for him. I wonder if delays the proposal had they lost.

Given the matchup (George Mason vs. VCU), today's A10 championship game should've been moved a bit further south, from DC, to the Richmond Coliseum.

I'll be rooting for VCU bigtime in this matchup. So will Loren Stokes.

Funny you should say this because when they interviewed Tony Skinn during the game, I was thinking, "Ask him about the Stokes punch, CBS!"

I think it's the first time A10 co-champs are meeting in the A10 championship game. OF COURSE, it would have to be George Mason vs. VCU in the year Hofstra lost early as an 11 seed in the conference those two programs left behind over a decade ago. Between that and Skinn being interviewed, that's a tough watch for Hofstra hoops fans!

Is it the first time two former CAA teams met for a championship in another conference?

Not sure, the first that I can recall. I don't think it happens often. Let alone the CAA, I can't even think of two former rivals in any league that met in a championship game in another league.

UNCW got a 14 seed. Wasn’t the CAA one of the top non power 5 mid major conferences back in the day?

If Will Wade can turn Mcneese state into a 12 seed then why in the world are we stuck in the position we are stuck in.

We're a long way from that. The teams that made the CAA one of the better mid-major leagues are long gone and no one has consistently attained that type of level since, although Charleston and UNCW have had their share of success.

This is a clip that will only help UNCW with its recruiting as the Seahawks were one of the few teams shown celebrating during the Selection Sunday show:

Can't miss opportunities. It's quite possible that Hofstra and UNCW would be in different positions as programs today if Hofstra had beaten UNCW instead of losing in OT to them in the 2016 and 2023 CAA tourneys. When you're in a one-bid league and you have a chance to dance, you MUST take advantage of those chances, not just for those years, but for the trickle-down effect that has on recruiting later on (not to mention all of the other times they were a top-four CAA seed and didn't dance).

p.s. Will Wade was a student manager at Clemson, which will face McNeese on Thursday.
