Chances of a recruit choosing HU over Big East is unfortunately next to zero

Apparently there's some truth to that ZMAN as Olujobi verbally commits to DePaul. Femi Olujobi per V/C Status Verbally Committed to DePaul. Ugh is there any light at the end of the tunnel??

Sorry WAGS missed your prior post!!

Last year I said this recruiting year scared the bejesus out of me. Big men who can contributesrd in short supply. So for next year our bigs are Schutte Trueheart and Hughes two are rail thin and the other is a project. Anyone feel warm and cozy about this front line?

We all believe we’re going to land at least 1 maybe 2 big kids but it’s starting to look like they might not be the ones we were hoping to sign!

Olujobi's commitment to DePaul really hurts us....hopefully by now we have what amounts to Plan Z with all the commitments elsewhere....Kid will not get the the Dance with DePaul. Had a better shot here.

What is the problem that we can't land a big - with so much time really find one. I always refer to the pipeline being full with players that are up and coming.
Since we land RG - what other big (6'8'+) have we signed and has given us quality minutes? Koon - 1 and done; Sabaty 2 years off the bench and Truehart.

Yes HUSID I really felt we were a better CHOICE in terms of getting to the dance then DePaul but once again we were wrong so maybe there was something else so compelling in choosing DePaul. Well its not over till it's over so who's our next so close yet so far recruit?? I wish someone had some inside info. on who we're close to signing.

Hofstra did s little research. It was the 2016-2017 season. We had on the floor 6ft Deron Powers 6ft JWF 6ft2 Brian Bernardi 6ft 4 Pemba and 6ft5 Robinson if I remember correctly both Rok and Hunter were in foul trouble and JAM refused to put Walker in

Maybe, but they have to win the conference. It was low before, but with all the defections of talent this year there's literally no chance of an at large bid in the CAA now. Seems like the kid was looking to showcase himself. He's going to get major minutes in the Big East. Can't fault him for that. Hofstra may actually have been his second choice, but there's no runner-up prizes in this game.

The first list is transfers (note "immediately eligible" column). A lot of the remaining bigs seem to have been bench players/backups.
The second list is JUCOs - not many with the size to rebound/block shots left, most of them are scooped up already.

I went thru the V/C list of transfers that r immediately eligible using the criteria of 6'7" and taller and I come up with 19 players. SID I hope your count is more accurate and I come up with 14 JUCO'S who r listed as either PF or Centers. Note that I found at least one player on this JUCO list that apparently had already signed and that was Antun Maricevic a 6'10" kid coming from Casper college. ESPN shows that he is verbally committed to South Florida. You have to wonder how accurate(up to date) these lists are? On the JUCO LIST there's a kid named Ivan Aurrecoechea a 6'8" PF/C who played for Indian Hills CC where Wormley came from. There are 6 schools shown on V/C recruiting him unfortunately Iona is one of those schools but HU isn't shown which may or may not mean anything. Some of the kids on the transfer list that r still available it should be noted have smaller frames(weigh less) then Stafford Trueheart. Just throwing this out there and I'll go on record saying IMO that neither one of these lists are totally comprehensive. The transfer list grows by the minute! Staying optimistic!!

Agreed Triplec that these lists are somewhat inaccurate and that there are still others not listed....my count, 6-7 and over and listed as a PF or C and is immediately eligible is 25. Still plenty of bodies both on that list and the JUCO lists but you have to wonder why we have not been able to land ANYONE or at least appears to be ready to play next year.
I would think many of these kids would salivate at the opportunity to come in and start right away on what could be a title contender.
