The clock is ticking. 17 days to go tic tic tic
Re: MBB recruits 2017
Still 2 weeks left, yet things just don't 'feel right', and this image certainly comes to mind, doesn't it?

you can hear a pin drop - can't be more quiet. Not sure if its a very bad sign or a good sign in that we are close on someone. Who knows?
I see lots of HU offers for next year. Vast majority are 2 star guys, but that can be very misleading. Except for the true studs, its hard to project how a 16 or 17 old will be when they're in college. A few of the guys look very good, but they'll likely have 25 offers by next year.![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Here's a new name, Rashed Anthony, 6-9 235 from Seton Hall. Just announced he is transferring and is eligible this year...these transfers keep coming!
Re: MBB recruits 2017
Question is are they coming to Hofstra ????????????????????????????????HUSID80 wrote:Here's a new name, Rashed Anthony, 6-9 235 from Seton Hall. Just announced he is transferring and is eligible this year...these transfers keep coming!

Would like to think we will be landing at least one or two.garyg wrote:Question is are they coming to Hofstra ????????????????????????????????HUSID80 wrote:Here's a new name, Rashed Anthony, 6-9 235 from Seton Hall. Re: MBB recruits 2017
These guys do come up, but these are the type we don't need right now. He's a talented guy, but he's an in the point kinda guy. Great shot blocker, good D. He is really a 5.HUSID80 wrote:Here's a new name, Rashed Anthony, 6-9 235 from Seton Hall. Just announced he is transferring and is eligible this year...these transfers keep coming!
That's what I mean, not that many guys really fit the profile of what we need. Not many of these guys are the Koon type player, or even the guy who can shoot from 15-18 ft. If he's not a mobile guy, JM is going to say he cant play defense against a wing who shoots from the corner. We've all heard JM say that about RG and HS playing together.
I don't know how the guy from Princeton is after knee injuries (I think his name was Brase), but he could be the Koon type guy. Kinda funny that koon and Brase both are from Princeton, bot about 6'7-6'8", both can shoot outside, both are transfers, both had knee issues.............maybe its fate

Re: MBB recruits 2017
So Illinois State had a player named Mikyle McIntosh. Coach Mihalich plucked Zeke Upshaw as a grad transfer from Illinois State and he did quite well that 1st year at HU. McIntosh is also immediately eligible as a grad transfer. Was all MVC conference last year.
If you want to lose your mind in Hofstra b'ball fantasy, look at the video on him on the verbal commits site .AWESOME! Unfortunately may want to see if the NBA is interested, but will not sign with an agent so he can keep his options for a fifth year if he wants.
Forget Sengfelder or Braase. I am sure the big boys will be all over this guy but if he came to Hofstra, he appears to be a complete game changer. Just dreaming I am afraid.

Saw him on Verbal Commits and thought the same thing...You never know what's going on behind the scenes.Captain wrote:So Illinois State had a player named Mikyle McIntosh. Re: MBB recruits 2017
McIntosh would be an absolute steal and major impact player for HU. For those reasons, I think the chances of him coming here are about 0%.

It will be "slim pickings" soon, forget "impact" transfers late this season.

HUSID80...do.you think we will still land an impact 4 ?? In earlier posts you basically said we could count on it...bank on it...or whatever
Re: MBB recruits 2017
Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein
Princeton grad transfer Hans Brase has cut his list to Richmond, Nebraska, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, and Iowa State, per a source.

Re: MBB recruits 2017
Does he have inside information or just his trust in JM getting an impact 4 this late?

Re: MBB recruits 2017
Don't know if we should read anything into this, but HU has offered lots of talented 6'7"-6'8" high school kids over the past week or so. Hope this is not our fall back position because we are not close to an impact 4 for this season.
Too bad about the Princeton kid - was kinda hoping it would be Koon replay.

Re: MBB recruits 2017
By my count there are more than 20 immediately eligible PFs according to Verbal Commits...still plenty of 'em...we only need one...what does anyone know about Darren Williams, 6-8 225 from St. John's. Listed as a three star.
Re: MBB recruits 2017
Many offers for 2018 and I am getting a bit worried the staff may "punt" this recruiting year and concentrate on next year.
