Now THAT was friggin awesome!!!
Guys, I have been spreading the message of this HU hoops team literally everywhere I go - want everyone to know whats going on - amazingly, or not unfortunately MANY in the area still have no clue what's happening here - I stop people in HU gear on a weekly basis only to find *I* am the one to educate them on their teams season
HU really needs to be taking advantage of this and doing a LOT more to market - billboards, ads, tv spots, anything and everything - they won't of course, they'll just assume everyone knows because they read emails and twitter from the school lol, but if they were smart and understood biz strategy and the benefit that can from all this, they would milk this to the bone.
Until then, WE can keep doing our part talking up this team wherever and to whoever!!!!

It is so great for these guys to get this attention. It is very deserved - far too often teams like us get overlooked to talk about a team that’s 10th in the ACC.
Really enjoying this ride. I talk Hofstra all the time at work (people are probably sick of it) - and lately have just been updating people on the streak. Last week in a room of about 75 people a new hire was introduced. They said a lot of info about this person’s work history, etc. The last thing they said was that she is a Hofstra grad and the room erupted and everyone looked at me. Apparently people have been paying attention. It was very funny.

but I tell ya I (we) dont get no respect
"...and Eli Pemberton, who hit a 90-footer at the buzzer in Hofstra’s had 22 points."
Come on man get the game right - EP had a buzzer beater Thursday vs JMU and had 22 points Saturday vs Towson.

Read that article this morning. Kudos to the reporter that asked Cooper if he follows college basketball. Also - great answer!

This was taken from YARDBARKER today;
Villanova coach Jay Wright still keeps his eye on former team Hofstra

Jay Wright has been the head coach of Villanova since 2001, but that doesn’t mean he has forgotten about the school that he coached prior to that.
Speaking with reporters on Sunday, Wright was asked about the scorching hot play of Hofstra University. He replied by saying that he was loving it and was watching every game of theirs, per Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press.
I know there's a previous post that similar to this!!

That’s why Jay is so well liked at Hofstra. We appreciate his contributions while he was here. And he loved his time here and the opportunity given to him. Now Jay lets have a 2 for 1 with Nova playing the Dutch on a regular basis. I think it would benefit both schools

The Post didn't make the mistake. It was copied from the Associated Press.
https://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com ... ficiating/ praised mid-major teams Wofford and Murray State with one paragraph. Then a paragraph had two sentences about Belmont, two about Penn, and one about Hofstra:
"Hofstra is on a 16 game winning streak with their only losses coming at Maryland, at VCU and at Marshall."

For those who still think an at-large is completely out of the question, remember I said at 15-3, you might see them get a vote in the AP poll if they got to 17-3 and get multiple votes at 19-3. Well, they got that vote (earlier than I thought) at 15-3, again at 17-3, and now NINE votes at 19-3! Granted, they have to keep winning, but once you start getting something like 9 AP votes and you're ranked in the top 30-something, you are now in the bubble conversation, even if it doesn't guarantee anything at all.
That means today's new AP poll agrees with Andy Katz... with 9 AP votes, Hofstra is now ranked 33rd!
They also got votes in the coaches poll (two of them) for the first time this season, which makes then ranked 39th in that poll.
