What a win. LETS GOOOOOOOO. We better start the GoFundMe for Edmead cause that was an NIL dream for him. What a shot, what a player. This is our time tomorrow night.

Unsure what Speedy was saving the timeouts for tonight, but moot point. So amped

When we have the ball for the last possession and have a timeout left, a lot of the time we do not use it.

We play at a slow tempo, and it normally works, but waiting until 10 seconds are left on the shot clock to try to score makes it harder to get a good shot. We had bad shots and shot clock violations. 4 of our 10 turnovers were team turnovers, and at least 3 were shot clock violations. I do not know much about strategy, but I think Claxton should learn to tell the players to think about shooting earlier.

Fouling out saved Davis from playing 45 minutes. Based on how Monmouth and us played today, I expect us to lose tomorrow, but at least we won a classic. I hope Edmead gets in SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays.

Here are the Analytics leaders. In efficiency, Tyler Tejada was first with 23, Edmead was second with 16, and Sunday was third with 15. In game score, Tejada was first with 20.4, Edmead was second with 14.2, and Sunday was third with 8.3. In net points, Tejada was first with 14.7, Edmead was second with 7.6, and Davis was third with 7.3.

Player of the game is debatable. Tejada led in all three of those, points, and had the second most rebounds on either team. I do not believe in automatically giving player of the game to a player on the winning team. Edmead shot better than Tejada. Tejada got helped by attempting more free throws, 10 to 1. Tejada shot 9-23. If he shot 9-20, I would give him player of the game. With how he shot, I think player of the game is a tossup.

Would the CAA consider giving Tournament MVP to a guy who lost in the Semifinals? Tejada averaged 31.3 points. Davis scored 48, so he needs to score 46 tomorrow to score as much as Tejada. Nobody on Monmouth scored more than 31 in two games combined.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z73kp7H7lf8 are highlights that just show us scoring.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pdz9iIRpkPw are highlights from the CAA.

https://gohofstra.com/news/2026/3/10/me ... iller.aspx is our recap titled "On To The Finals! Edmead's Three Lifts Hofstra In Overtime Thriller." There were nine ties, and ten lead changes.

The halves had opposite scores. I wonder which one is more, the halves having opposite scores to cause overtime, or a game being tied after both halves.

https://gohofstra.com/boxscore.aspx?pat ... l&id=13861 is the box score. It is too bad that the attendance was 1,582. Towson and us average more fans than that.

https://towsontigers.com/news/2026/3/9/ ... fstra.aspx is Towson's recap titled "Towson Men’s Basketball Falls in Overtime Heartbreaker in CAA Tournament Semifinal to Hofstra." They misspelled the name of their player Jaquan Womack by calling him Joquan.

Loser of the game, no tossup. Towson. Wish we beat em by a Towson though.

Also, holy shoot, how bad was Pete Gillen tonight? Called Williamson, Decady all night. Even on the replay of the last shot. How is he still on the air? Was gargling Towsons nuts all night as well.

Would you have given player of the game to Hampton's Michael Eley for scoring 43 in an 86-72 loss?

We will see which pair of guards will play in the NCAA Tournament. It won't be Tejada and Williamson. It will be Davis and Edmead, or Kavion McClain and Jason Rivera-Torres.

My view of the game-winner (I still can't believe it!):

Good thing the banks are open late in D.C.

Must they always have a very tense OT semis game the day after stomping W&M in the quarters? :D

2023, now 2026. At least this time, they won it.

That would've been an incredible championship game. The competition on both sides was fierce for the full 45 minutes. Towson never led by more than 4, Hofstra never by more than 6. Towson shot 23/62, Hofstra 24/63. Towson won the first half 28-27, Hofstra won the second half 28-27. It was as close and as competitive as it could get. It was a grind, but it was a really entertaining game with what was at stake. And that was before an ending for the ages.

Sorry I missed this one but hopefully will get to see some of the highlights. Incredible we could win this game without Cruz. Was he out the entire O/T?? So we only need one win now hopefully again the third time is a charm but will have to take care of two good guards one we haven't played against yet. GO PRIDE!!

A win is a win, even if it was an ugly one.

When Cruz got going in the second half, it showed what he can do and what’s needed of him when we need points. But after the Cruz isolation, some our other players passed up easy shots, which I felt let Towson focus more on Cruz and allowed to get Towson back in the game. HU had several chances to finish off this Towson team - but could not deliver that knockout blow.

I also thought Cruz when he was switched onto Towson’s Tejada several times was a killer and almost cost us the game. It was an obvious mismatch, and Tejada hit a couple of clutch threes, both from beyond the arc and the usual way, including some “and 1’s.”

Tonight will definitely be tough again. Cruz and Edmead will need to do their thing, and then some. We’ll also need German, DeCady, and/or Biggie to put together a strong, combined, double-double (24-30 points and 12-15 rebounds). Our big men, Silas and Victory, have to bring solid defense - without foul trouble - for 40 minutes.

From the first time I saw Monmouth in early January, when we beat them in overtime, I thought they were a solid, underrated team. I’m not surprised to see them in this Championship game. Rivera-Torres leads the Monmouth team, and DeCady will have to - again - step up to lock down this tough opponent.

As I said, last night was an ugly win, but I’ll take a few more of those ugly “Ws”, especially those in March!

Roll Pride!

Still pinching myself this morning, absolutely incredible, and even more incredible that we were finally on the positive end of an amazing shot and ending like that when it mattered most!!

Insane shot, but I’ll tell you what, Edmead is a straight up BALLER and that kid has absolute ice in his veins, completely unfazed in that massive moment. Kids making a name for himself.

I was going ballistic when WRHU lost their feed at the most crucial point, they were having tech issues all evening, so freaking annoying – you have one job WRHU get it together for tonight.

Anyone else imagining if Gus Johnson was calling this game, he would’ve had another gem for the ages! I can literally hear him in my head with a historic call to add to his repertoire :D

Hope we and he get that chance in the dance, let’s GET IT DONE!

So much for Hofstra choke jobs...the kid Edmead is a baller and this team is different...FANTASTIC WIN AND EPIC SHOT!!!
Tonight won't be easy. Monmouth is a different team with their point guard back.
GO PRIDE!

I was sitting next to them. This was not their fault at all. They were very frustrated with it because they lost power. It affected more than just them.

But Dylan Brett still got the call on the game-winner:

Love Edmead, hope he stays, hope he'll be another in the long line of Hofstra POY's, and I hope he gets a title tonight. He has tremendous poise, he's talented, he's humble yet he accepts the big moment on his shoulders, he's a great teammate, he's extremely coachable, he's very likable, he's a very well-deserving ROY, he's everything any Hofstra fan could've hoped for in his freshman year. And he deserves a ton of credit for being their best player last night after going 2/12 the day before, especially as a freshman.

But let's be honest on the shot - it was a bad shot. It was a bad play to run the clock down and settle for that in a tie game when they only needed 2 or to draw a shooting foul, and the shot only banked in because it was not only offline, but so far off to the right. Hey, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, and that was one of them. It will be remembered as a legendary Hofstra Basketball moment because it went in, but it wasn't a good play or a good shot. It's fine though, he deserved it for everything else he did in the game and all season long.
