Good luck to him.
Unfortunately, he just never worked out at HU. Was billed as a PG, but really had a shoot first attitude. Ultimately, not what we needed.

It’s so hard to project talent. Even if you recruit a HS senior, you don’t know how he or she will develop.
I wish KJ good luck at his next school.

Funny that they showed his best game stats
His only start was against the D3 school

Best of luck to KJ, but I was pretty happy to see this ngl. Just didn't work here for him.
Hopefully a good sign for Cruz and Jean staying?

agree - AND as stated below - means CD and JA are back - perfectly OK with this

Wish him well, but agree with all...it just wasn't working for him at Hofstra.

K Farmer is now in the portal as well.
So thats 3 guards (Robinson, farmer, Parnell). Really opening up some space for new blood.
Also note that HU has offered Pasha. Interesting! Obviously if Pasha accepted, neither Cruz nor Edmead would be our starting PG.
Still wondering if Sanders will be leaving or not. Maybe with only one year left, he doesnt want to start over again.
So as of today, we have Cruz, Arang, Lopez, Sunday, DeCady, Amir W, Sanders, and Edmead. Verbal commits shows we have offered mostly JUCOs. If we could land two of the guards offered and pick up two more bigs, we might have something. As is typically the case, one of the bigs needs to be an experienced guy, and I expect us to go with the one and done type player (as we a have done many times before).

They had to try but he's not coming here. He's a big fish headed for bigger seas to swim in.

I liked Farmers game and he added a needed spark off the bench. Def wish he stayed one more year.

Walk-on Miguel Mantilla Pacchiano is leaving.

Where are they going? Parnell. Robinson, Farmer. Moving down to a lower-level program like Sacred Heart? Did Speedy suggest they leave? Sorry about Farmer, though.

Farmer stings a little. But if he turns out to be our biggest loss we did pretty well.
Northeastern just lost their entire big 3 of King, Woods, and Troutman. And Monmouth just lost Madison Durr, and while I haven't seen anything official yet there's almost no way they'll be able to keep Bashir.
Curious to see if Towson will be able to hold onto Tejada and Williamson again.

The portal only opened today and is open through April 22. It's way too soo to assess the damage.

Not surprised at these names in the portal. Farmer essentially sat for two years and DNP much this year. Similar story for Parnell, though he did get into a few games this year.
All schools seem to be counting on the portal to replenish their rosters. I wonder if there are any opportunities for us to bring in some higher-level HS talent? NYC used to provide us with some good players. Even LI has D1 talent. And are we looking abroad? Coach Parrotta used to have some Lithuanian connections.
BTW, did anyone see Kevin Willard and his Maryland team interviewed after their big win yesterday? The kid who scored the winning goal thanked his coach for "getting us the money." That says it all.

There will be opportunities to bring in high school kids, a number of the big schools are portal only now. With the long term result of being a farm system for the major programs.

This system is awful, the NCAA is a spineless entity. We should honestly consider disbanding our athletic program, or drop to D-III.
All of our players are truly in the portal, all it takes is a higher bidder to come along. I would never knock the players for taking the money, but I would respect our school for deciding to not participate in this complete farce of a “student-athlete” world.
I mean it kind of was a farce anyway, but at least we got to see some players stick it out, improve their games and get degrees, now it’s an encouraged cash grab. I don’t understand the end game for our school in this NIL world.

As much as I would hate to see Hofstra leave D-I, everything you said is on point.

This is interesting. Chris Mack back to Xavier perhaps after one year at Charleston?
https://x.com/CBBcontent/status/1904246819120427373
If so, that's kind of crazy for Xavier to recycle a second coach a second time.
I get why Mack would go back, but why would X take its ex back?
Why not make Luke Murray a first-time head coach? I bet he'd be good as one and it would weaken a top conference rival's staff a little bit.
