This is strange, but I’ve checked a number of times and have been told that Jaeden Roberts has not, so far, entered the current transfer portal. I see your note from him, but he may have been merely thanking Speedy for the great year. I could be wrong. I often am, but I may be right. Bet you five bucks.

Is Wills definitely returning to Hofstra?

There were three Hofstra players in the portal….Edmead, Cruz and Amir Williams, as far as I can tell.

According to the AD we had to get together, Robert Wills and victory are definitely gone

Holy cow Victory just landed at Wisconsin. I dont know if he's mature enough for the Big Ten but best of luck to him.

NC State also a nice landing spot for Edmead. Better than Oregon imo. We now will have kids playing in the Big 12, Big Ten, and ACC next season...

Cruz - Texas Tech
Edmead - NC State
Victory - Wisconsin

Speedy is breeding thoroughbreds. Hopefully people want in on the magic here.

It would be nice if we could keep them for two years like Cruz...at least get something back for our investment in these kids. The Victory move to Wisconsin is surprising...I guess athletic big menare at a premium. It will be interesting to see how these three perform on a bigger stage.

I wish this was like soccer in the sense that Hofstra would get paid by the team that takes the player. Our university matured and grew the player, someone steps in and reaps all the benefits.

Victory to Whisky is a joke - totally undisciplined player - playing for disciplined coach - he'll have 2 fouls in a heartbeat!

My son just committed to Wisconsin. This is gonna be interesting. Really wishing Victory stuck around another year - feel like he’d benefit immensely from another season in the CAA. Big men are a premium though / and Hofstra put in the original investment - wisco gonna cash in on it.

The CAA figured out Victory in 2 seconds. He will never make it in Big 10 but good for him to grab whatever bag he got.

Congrats bean-pie! You gotta share your first experience at Camp Randall for Jump Around! On my list of must-sees...

As for our transfers out, I love the TT fit for Cruz - excellent landing spot for him, gives me the Estrada feel, and I hope he leads them to a major NCAAT run next year

For Preston, I'm actually not that impressed with going to NC State. Sure, ACC, but typically a mid-pack squad - they do dance but miss too, and not really a true elite 8 or FF candidate - they've been nothing to write home about for years - I expected better to be frank - Oregon would've been much bigger, though that doesn't mean better for him specifically

That said, I will say that they just replaced their entire staff (due to my points above), former Pack star Gainey is now the HC with tons of great experience and has put together a stellar staff on paper - with him being a PG and this being the east coast, guessing those were big factors

Also thinking he 'only' got around the $750k mark - if close, yes that's great money but its hardly 'life-changing' money - still have to pay taxes - $3M, yeah that's life changing - if you're only keeping about $500k thats a decent car or two and only a downpayment on a house and it's gone - nothing crazy. Although he's young so we do have to compound it over 3 more years - I don't know, I just expected a bigger splash to leave Speedy

Victory can absolutely hang with the B1G - he can hang with any power league - he's that athletic and strong and with great size - some of you are really downplaying that - however, you are 100% right to note that it likely won't matter because he can't stay on the court long enough to make the impact he's capable of! Just making the point he was the ONLY HU player that could hang and bang with Bama's athleticsm - and it was clear.

Anyhoo, no matter my opinion, I truly hope they both kill it - would only be good for Speedy and HU!

So considering Speedy rarely goes more than 8 or 9 deep in the rotation, are we really just another C and hopefully legit depth forward away from the core of next year's team being complete? This is how I see the lineup right now:

PG: Justin Moore
SG: Deywilk Tavarez
G/F - Tanner Thomas
PF - Decady
C - Zorgvol or tbd

Core bench:
C - TBD or Zorgvol
G - Carlos Lopez (what is this kid's ceiling after missing 2 full seasons?)
G - Xavier Blake

Depth bench:
F - Tbd
Others: 3rd C, Trey Boyd and extra guards

If Moore and Tavarez can expand their games past the levels they were at in CAA previously and Xavier Blake is as advertised its a pretty intriguing group. Obviously whether the next C is a potential 10ppg scorer or a less heralded guy than Zorgvol will make a major difference too.

Has anyone seen the tape on Zorgvol? He’s pretty dang athletic for a big guy. How much eligibility does he have left - 1 or 2 years?

You are correct / one year remaining. I think he’s potentially a huge pickup for us. Coming out of high school he was viewed as a four‑star, top‑100 recruit. He’s been dinged up by injuries, but he still finished as the Horizon League’s #1 center in blocks and ranked in the top three across all positions. Speedy absolutely has an intriguing team for the upcoming season; add one more big man and it starts to look really exciting.

Charleston landed the center from Villanova that we had been rumored to have been interested in. Wouldn't be surprised if this kid had a Wessler like impact in the CAA. Zorgvol is definitely intriguing, but still hoping we find someone good enough to make him the backup C and not the starter.
