2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Clarke currently ranks seventh, with an average of .658. FR Trevor Baptiste of Denver leads D1 with an average of .711. Nick Saputo of. Drexel, our next opponent, is also very good.

Clarke will face two that are ahead of him. The Cornell guy is ahead of him also.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
The season was over before it started when it was decided Seth Tierney was still the coach. Look around, nobody even cares about what used to be the flagship sport of the University. This ****ing guy killed the program all by himself, he didn't even need Rabinowitz.stuball888 wrote:One more conference loss and our season is over.
Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Yep, bringing the program to its knees, its disgraceful, can't say it enough
Alas, my hope remains that this dismal season with a team that has talent will force long overdue change - 1 more loss and it'll be *5* straight yrs of no NCAA for the U's once flagship sport - that just can NOT be acceptable to an AD that is looking to build a quality dept
And I have a feeling that loss will be occurring quite soon - that's why I stopped going over the top, knew it would collapse just like clockwork - it's so sad that ST led teams are known to falter - its automatic - its a surprise when they produce strong seasons, or beat a quality team - that's just...bad
Amazing...Farfield sits atop the conf - I mean holy smokes... How bad does the CAA have to be for HU to do something - meanwhile watching nationally ranked programs HU used to beat on a regular basis battling it out in meaningful games
Its time for outcry folks - join the cause, fight for this programs LIFE -> ST MUST GO.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Outcry? I guess it would be worth a shot if this administration showed any kind of a history in responding to the voice of it's hardcore fan base in athletics. Sadly, they don't. They lost out on about 50 tickets from me this season. Do you know how much they care about that?
They are going to do, what they are going to do whether you like it or not.
Tierney is probably a yes man that knows his place in the University and stays out of everyone's way. He's buds with daddy warbucks who basically privately finances the Mens lax program all by himself these days, right? Probably has a job for life here.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Tried to stay out of the fray but those that know me knows that will not happen. here is my take. Let take a look at this game. We win the faceoff battle easily. We win the ground ball, turnover and even had more EMOs. Overall we had 25 more possessions than drexel. Our shooting percentage is horrible. We cant be running into Hot goalies every week.Look we gave up 8 goals. That should be enough if you have an efficent offense. Saw Seths uncles Denver team play and their offense ran like a well oiled machine. Ours looks like it is stuck in the mud Going forward we are now 4-6 overall and 1-2 in conference our remaining games are with Cornell Marist Towson and Fairfield. try not to spit up your coffee but if we win all the remaining games we are still only 8-6. Not a ringing endorsment for this team or coach. We all know that Metzger is close with Seth and if you are the administration would you upset your largest sport donor. metzger donated 1.5 mil just a couple years ago. I just dont see Seth being let go. As long as his players graduate and dont cause trouble he will be back. That said I know he have a stud of a player who is a real sniper coming from Nassau CC. he leads all of JUCO in scoring by a wide margin. have seen film on him and he is the real deal. The player is Josh Byrne. I believe he is 6ft3 and 215 and has a cannon shot and can shoot with accuracy from any angle.

Don't forget we also have Seth's son Ryan committed to play for Hofstra. He's currently a junior at Massapequa. He's supposed to be pretty good as well.
Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Seths son singlehandedly led Massapequa to victory over Garden City. Was wondering where he was going to college. Good to hear he's coming to Hofstra.
Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
don't know if he qualifies for a full scholarship but being coaches son he gets free tuition in either case. this can save us a scholarship.

All employees of the university has free tuition for their children.
Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Well if that happens and the admin shows that they will accept mediocre to below average performance, and not just allow it but reward it, then that will be extremely disappointing and we should all be prepared to witness the continued demise of this program until it's beyond repair
I don't care who he had coming here supposedly in 20-umpteen - this isn't about 1 or 2 players, this is about a PROGRAM that in serious trouble - this program needs change - and the coaches son is not going to be enough to save it - the pitiful performance and falling off the relevant map has and will continue to hurt the recruiting more than potentially losing one kid
ST MUST GO, if this U cares at all about the future of lax at HU, change is not an option anymore it's an absolute NECESSITY
5 straight yrs of no NCAA... 5 straight folks. And with no change it may get worse.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Just got back from the game. Pitiful that we lost to marist 11-8. One thing stood out to me is that we lack any kind of speed. A couple of their players were playing keep away and we just could not catch them. One sequence there player #3 kept the ball for a full minute while three of our players looked like the washington generals trying to catch marques Haynes or Curley neal. We now stand 4-7 overall with Cornell and Towson and fairfield still to play. each of those teams are far better than marist. Unless things turn around quickly we are looking at a 10 loss season.

This might be the most painful post game presser I've watched this season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d6mh21 ... youtu.be&a

I don't care if Tierneys son is the second coming of Jim Brown. I'll gladly watch him play for another school if it means this sorry sack of shit for a coach gets fired like he deserves.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
There are 69 teams in div1 mens lax. The computer has us at #34. Who is programming that computer. The RPI is more realistic with a rating of #49. Think about it #49 out of 69 teams. Cant believe someone asked Seth if we ran into another hot goalie. I dont want to hear how good marist is. Their record is 8-3 but some of those wins were against the dreck of div1 mens lax. Sorry but the talent is not there . We have some good pieces but we really dont look like a good div1 mens lax team.
Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse
Is everyone finally starting to see what some of us have been calling out for quite some time now? Or will it take a few more losses? If so, hang tight, they're coming.
Awfully quite from the folks who tried to tell me ST is solid, that the team has plenty of talent, that they will get it together, that the wins will come, that the CAA is weak, that this is one of the better teams in years, blah blah blah...
Program is disintegrating people - it's literally dying right before our eyes, and if the admin doesn't make the necessary change, it will flatline. I know some of you on here have some contact with folks at the school, if you care one iota about this program it's time to put whatever pressure you can
Scary times right now - this sport is only reason the stadium even still stands. Coach Danowski is probably cringing to see what's happened to a once power program that he built.
No one person is bigger than the program. Its now or never. ST MUST GO.
