I received an email with a special offer for the last two home games: 4 tickets + a $50 food voucher for $99. They should advertise that in Newsday ... "Come see the #2 team in the country take on two division rivals."

Also, season ticket holders can get free tickets to either game as a result of the Cleveland State game having been cancelled (if they haven't received free tickets to a previous game). One free ticket for every season ticket you have.

We have drawn 4,000 plus in past, but I don't see it for Saturday's game since Drexel doesn't have a big following. I could see us maybe getting over 3,000 though for the UMass game if weather cooperates. If you look at attendance figures around the country we draw decently.

Agree but this is a special team and should draw considerably more

For our programs to draw big numbers we need to play teams with strong local followings....Drexel does not qualify. The fact that its a night game should help with high schools and locals.

If The only way people come is to see our opponent. Then we are in trouble If we don't build the Hofstra brand. Every game will be a home game for our opponents

ABC news is doing a story on the team that airs tomorrow. Maybe that'll earn them some more attention attention throughout NYC, not just Long Island

That is great exposure, not just in NYC and on Long Island but also New Jersey and parts of Connecticut that get station.

Local or national? Either way still good for the program.

According to the team's twitter, local. ABC7 out of the city.

It's far more than "better than nothing" since NYC news stations rarely give college lacrosse any coverage and you are talking the biggest media market. Awesome job by athletic communications getting this set up. Hopefully more will follow if we keep winning.

Did anyone see the ABC feature?

I did. It mainly concentrated on Seth Tierney and son relationship, but was great exposure. Speaking of media attention, here is some awesome national coverage of team's success from USA Today https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/c ... 100457910/
Hopefully we can keep it going tomorrow in what should be a battle.

The USA Today article mistakenly captioned a picture of Ryan Tierney as Seth Tierney

Kevin Crowley - St Thomas Aquinas (South Florida) a Hofstra signee, netted seven goals as regionals got underway won there
opening match as they beat Douglas HS 15-5. The Raiders (17-1) won a state championship a year ago and made the final four
for three straight years. Crowley now has scored 56 goals on the year. Kudos to Hofstra staff for this signing and connection.

This Hofstra program should be a top 5 for a number of years to come...they have a lot of guys coming back next season and have a very strong recruiting class...plus all the exposure and high ranking should help with future recruiting classes

Agreed, CyberSam, Kevin Crowley's dad (Terry Crowley) coaches the STA boy's lax team and recently won his 400th HS lax match. Last year Kevin scored 52 goals/25 assts; was named the 2016 FL HS POY. The STA team came up to LI to play Massapequa HS in an early (2017) season game (won by MHS.) Also, Terry Crowley is a
Massapequa HS grad. Hopefully, Kevin will have a nice career at Hofstra.
