That's a Big East rule, Stu. If you are unable to play, it counts as a forfeit loss.
They will need to change that rule as too many games are getting disrupted.

ESPN has us as 12 point dogs and gives us a 25.6% chance of winning...some of the Arkansas media listed the game as on ESPN but ESPN has no listing...shame there is no streaming access.

KenPom has Arkansas 14.32 better without home court advantage. It's not on their home court, but I think being in their state is an advantage compared to a neutral site.

Northeastern has Covid. They canceled their game hosting Vermont tomorrow and are hoping to resume on Wednesday. They are playing without fans.

Yes.

Drexel has COVID and postponed or canceled their game at Temple. It doesn't require travel, so it's easy to make up. Elon is 27.5 point underdogs at nearby Duke that was scheduled on short notice because Duke's opponent got Covid.

I wouldn't be surprised if teams cancel their seasons.

That won't even come close to happening. If we could playa a full season last year without vaccines we certainly can this season with vaccines and boosters. This is just a momentary bump in road as delta, omicron and flu all converge and I fully expect cases to go down sooner than later. Some encouraging numbers out of South Africa today that reflect this https://twitter.com/rid1tweets/status/1 ... CSV5GYy240

With the combination of cold weather and people seeing each other for Christmas, I'm expecting January and February to be bad for Covid.

UNCW blew a lead at High Point, and High Point got a basket and a foul but could not make a winning free throw in regulation. UNCW blew the lead in overtime, and Jaylen Sims made the winning shot with 2 seconds left to win 71-69. High Point was favored by 3.5. Elon were underdogs by 28 and did worse by losing at Duke 87-56. Elon committed 23 turnovers, and Duke committed 8.

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=367481 will have statistics.

Edit: I'm disappointed the starters haven't been posted yet. I put my TV on right when this game was on ESPN's bottom line.

Edit: Silverio is starting instead of Cooks. If Cooks is unavailable, Burgess will play significantly, and it will reduce the amount of time that we play with five guards.

Sucks I (we) cant watch this.

But with 10 minutes left in the 1st half (essentially the first quarter) we are up 20-16…
And close the half with a 40-32 lead!!!!!

10 minutes left in the game - 3 quarters of the way home - we are up 58-50!!!!!!!

Iyola having a nice half - I think he’s a needed big for us - reminds me of a poor-mans J Taylor (the Perdue transfer we had a few year ago).

No Zach Cooks tonight, Carlos seeing some action.

Carlos has 11 minutes, and Burgess has only 5. Cramer and Burgess combined for 5 points, 1 rebound, and 0 assists with 11:18 left, and they were starters last season. Even knowing all the incoming transfers, did anybody expect Ray, Cramer, and Burgess to have as small a percent of our points as they do?

Edit: With 10:52 left, we lead 54-50. We don't have any fouls, which could be good or bad. If we're trailing and need to foul several times to make them shoot free throws, it will be bad. Do you think the NCAA should add the NBA rule that the second or more foul in the last two minutes gives free throws?

Up 13 with a minute left, crazy to think we should have wins over Houston, Maryland and Arkansas.
