Under-12 timeout, Gustys doesn't yet have a rebound, Tanksley managed to pick up 2 fouls 6 seconds apart, and we're down 8-14.

Their announcers have even gotten some of their own players wrong. I always swear our students do a better job at announcing than some of the "paid professionals" other schools hire.

It's 38-38 at halftime. Bernardi and Prewitt are tied for the scoring lead with 13 each, and both of them have made 5 out of 8 field goals.

Hofstra started 1/7 from, the floor with four different guys shooting (and mostly missing). Does anyone STILL think this is a great shooting team?
Well, they showed me (good!). They finished 14/24 (58.3%) after that cold start, to briefly take the lead. Tied at the half, 38-38.

Still think they're nothing more than an average shooting team though, and the numbers over the season show that. Green was just 2/7, 1/4 from 3. He does have 6 asts and only 1 to though. Bernardi got it going - went 5/8, 3/6 from 3, has 13. Tanskley only played 7 minutes because he actually managed to pick up two fouls in SIX SECONDS (SMH). Prewitt hurting HU (13 pts on 5/8, to cancel out Bernardi's production).

Other key halftime scores:
UNCW up 44-38 on Elon at home.
Towson trails NU, 23-22, at home.

Early, JMU up 14-9, at Charleston.

They are terrible! I know it's "their team" but you can't say "we" all the time. Show an OUNCE of objectivity. They sound like fans.

I only have the audio. Are you guys watching video? I clicked on links via the CAA and Hofstra for video, but they never load. Didn't say I had to subscribe or anything, just nothing happened.

The biggest difference right now is free throws. We've only attempted 4 (made 3), compared to W&M's 13 attempts (made 11). If we can keep up what we're doing and cut down and fouls in the second half, we could be ok.

That has hurt, but the plus side with that is that Green, Gustys and Bernardi -- the three guys they need most in the 2nd half -- only have one foul each.

UPDATE: And now Sheldon picks up his 3rd early in the 2nd half, so that could be big if he gets another fairly soon.

Yeah, I don't mind those stats, I like beating the teams we're supposed to beat, and we haven't had a team that was ever the best in the conference. Those numbers are as obvious as the sky being blue honestly.

Now it's a MUST WIN GAME!! Let's get it done, good first half!!

Not when you're the preseason favorite though. When you're that, and those are the expectations going in, you shouldn't have a losing record against the best. 2-3 against the best this year is the difference between being where Hofstra is and right there with UNCW right now.

Random observation.... It looks like the only diversity in this crowd is the Hofstra women's basketball team cheering on the men...

Also, are there walls made out of cinder blocks? It sure looks like it in some spots.

Gustys now has his 14th double-double of the year. He's one away from the Hofstra CAA record.

Bruce Hornsby at the game! Hell yea.

Rok playing VERY well offensively.

He's already tied his career-high of 25 pts, on 12/14 fg.

UPDATE: Up 81-70, with 5 1/2 left, Gustys picks up two fouls within 32 seconds and has to come out with 4 fouls. And now it's 81-75 with 4:21 left. The second foul was a bad offensive one where he just bowled the defender over. Has to know better there. This would be as bad or worse a loss than the others down the stretch recently. Gotta make some plays and hang on down the stretch here.

Gustys back in quickly with the 4 fouls. Missed a very makeable layup.

JAM going with Buie over Bernardi down the stretch.

Still 81-75, 2:44 left.

Green has 12 assists. I think that's a career-high for him.

I think he had 14 against Northeastern, but that was triple OT. 12 may very well be a career-high in regulation.

I have to do this more often.

They finished 33/56 (58.9%) after that 1/7 start.

And they get a huge W! 86-80 to tie W&M in the standings.

Meanwhile, UNCW being pushed by Elon. Only up 78-75 with 2:09 left.
