Can someone post the schedule as we know it so far? Thanks.
Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
Hope thats just a return game they have to play, and not one they actively scheduled for this season... crappy team, crappy game, and not an ounce of draw for the HU crowd
All for some presence in FL, great recruiting territory, and I know every sched needs some cupcakes every yr, just a bit tired of these FAU / FIU / JU ones - how about a FGCU game? If you're scheduling out of area mids for a 1-1 then at least get some strong ones with some name recognition to get some value from it
Hope they're choosing opponents wisely, probably only a few that are not required of a 1-1 deal from last yr...

11/20: vs Florida State in the Virgin Islands (Paradise Jam), plus 2 more games in the tournamentJojogunne wrote:Can someone post the schedule as we know it so far? Thanks.
12/2: at LaSalle
12/6: vs App State at MSG
12/9: at Siena
12/22: vs Florida Atlantic
Plus we have the return game at Stony Brook, I don't think there's a date known yet.

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
Only 1 home game so far since we gave up the home game to play at MSG. We might have return games with Columbia, Coppin State and a couple others, but I'm not sure.
The team does open at home though. Coach Kilburn-Steveskey said in a WRHU interview that there is a season opener double header at the Mack again like last year.

Some of the Paradise Jam games will be on CBS Sports Network, including our first game against FSU.

Our season and home opener is November 13th against Canisius. It's a double header with the women hosting Navy.

His office is in a mobile trailer behind the Mack. It's in the back parking lot next to the ropes course and the outiside entrance to the basketball offices.
Also, not happy about Molloy, or at least the timing of it. They certainly won't prepare us for Florida State. But hopefully a huge win (and perhaps putting up triple digits) would at least give the team some confidence before the Virgin Islands.
This will be Jordan Allen's return to Hofstra when we play Sacred Heart.
Students will be on campus for only 2 games of the non-conference schedule, since we gave up a true home game to play at MSG.

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
Hofstra has a very good relationship with Molloy and their AD Susan Cassidy- Lyke. I know we play them every fall in softball.
Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
Well, the good news is we play fewer bottom-feeders. The bad news is we go five weeks without a home game (Nov. 16 to Dec. 22). I guess we should be thankful for small improvements.
I think we can beat Canisius, Molloy, App State, Siena, FAU, and SHU. Not sure about the others.
Hofstra RPI = 183
11/13 CANISIUS (home) RPI 169
11/16 MOLLOY (home) D2
11/20 Paradise Jam 1st rd. vs. Florida State 110
11/22 Paradise Jam 2nd rd. (DePaul 197, South Carolina 97)
11/23 Paradise Jam 3rd rd. (Tulsa 50, Ohio 236, Indiana State 177, Norfolk State 167)
11/28 St. Bonaventure (road) 127
12/2 La Salle (road) 105
12/6 App State (MSG) 243
12/9 Siena (road) 269
12/20 Stony Brook (road) 112
12/22 FAU (home) 305
12/28 SACRED HEART (home) 244

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
Overall schedule weak...what happened to local rivals Iona, Manhattan, St. Johns ??...if program wants to grow they must improve out-of-conference schedule...recruits do not want to play Molloy...Sacred Heart...Canisus...App Stae
Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
They won't play us...simple

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
I do love that they do this through video, very cool and engaging
coach and AD have publicly noted the unwillingness of other local team playing HU the last couple of years, and I hope they keep saying it until the attention causes change - it's ridiculous teams like SJU, Fordham, Manhattan, Iona, etc. won't play HU - are they that much of a bunch of wussies?
What about UConn, Rutgers, Seton Hall?? Is that them or HU?? HU used to play at least 1 ranked team every yr ('Cuse, Louisville, Maryland) - yes, on the road, but it was something - this is a Sr led experienced and talented team, GET THEM ON THE MAP a little bit
At any rate, there are some small improvements to be happy about - it's a little tougher than last yr, and I do like the games against Siena and St Bon - Canisius better than JU simply for the regional matchup and Buffalo being a decent recruiting area
Playing at MSG is great ... against App St??? Don't get that one - zero draw other than it's at the garden for HU fans - App St travels well and this will be bigger for them to play there, wouldn't surprise me if they brought a nice crowd
SBU will be a great one, and the Jam can be very good for HU if they get FSU, Depaul, and Tulsa (who's quite good) - HU should go into that with the fire and focus to WIN IT ALL
At least the schedule has solid conferences even if the teams themselves aren't the greatest - I forget FAU is Conf USA - so weird lol - anyway good chance for a W against a CUSA team
Molloy, eh, whatever, it's better than friggin Farmingdale, though I agree should def have been 1st game or exhibition
all about winning the conf as we all know - that's the bottom line. No at -larges in the CAA right now, so let's take the whole damn thing

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2015-16
Agree that the quality of the schedule is better than last year....that is good.
That being said, I am very disappointed about our home schedule. How are we supposed to get ramped up to attend home games against Canisius, FAU, and SH ( I dont even count Molloy...should be listed as exhibition). Wow, this home sched will really bring out the fans!! Best "home" game will be against SB at thier place.....I will be getting tix for that one as soon as they are available.
I guess we have to hope that a good on the road record brings fans to the Mack for the conference games.

Why not? We would be a "W" for them.HUSID80 wrote:They won't play us...simple
