Good question for Rick Cole our Ad and former Iona AD....send him an email.

it is a no brainer to me - should a rubber-stamped yearly matchup

UCLA game confirmed, per Hofstra Pride Instagram story, November 21. Looks like tickets, flight, and hotel was a prize at tonight’s Hall of Fame dinner/golf tournament.

Stony Brook announces non-con schedule and it lists the Hofstra game on Dec 10...we're home this year.

Especially with Cole our AD having ties to Iona. - seems like a no-brainer.

They wanted a home game last year, and we consented to going there two seasons in a row, so we deserve to host.

On the UCLA MBB site it has HU playing UCLA as part of the "Maui on the Mainland" tournament.
It also shows UCLA playing Southern Utah as part of the tournament.
My guess is that we are the TBA team and that HU will be playing one of the teams shown below, as well as Cal St Fullerton on the HU west coast trip. That would make it a 3 game trip which makes sense.
Maui on the Mainland (Visiting) Teams (4?): Delaware State Hornets (MEAC) (Georgia), ETSU Buccaneers (SoCon) (Kansas), Southern Utah Thunderbirds (Big Sky) (UCLA), 1 TBA?

I heard UCLA, Cal State Fullerton and San Diego State will be the three schools we play on the trip.

To HUSID74, Any information on the possible Florida games? Do you know any possible local or east coast games besides USB? Doesn't seem that the schedule takes more long to develop every season.

SDSU must be San Diego State. There is no San Diego University because it's University of San Diego. If we're playing UCLA on November 21 and San Diego State on November 27, I hope we play Cal State Fullerton on November 24. That would be Thursday-Sunday-Wednesday. Playing on Sunday would be good so the game doesn't start at 10:00 P.M.

Put it this way we are playing a SAN DIEGO....and yes the Fullerton game will be the middle game of the trip. As for Florida I believe the event is at Florida Atlantic which is in Boca Raton, don't know much else about that event.

Here's some news on the Florida tournament:

It seems like UIC will be a headliner in the Boca Raton Beach Classic along with FAU and 2 other teams. UIC is already hosting Canisius. They will also host one of: Hofstra, Holy Cross, or Mercer. #HLMBB

"UIC is already hosting Canisius." Does that mean that the tournament will have games in Boca Raton and campus games? I don't think Hofstra should go to California, Florida, and UIC. Mercer is a little south of Atlanta, so it would be easy to go to Boca Raton and Mercer on one trip.

From what I can tell from the sites of the various colleges listed and their message boards, this seems to be the information on the Boca Raton Tournament. There are 2 brackets: the Naismith (HU, Canisius, Holy Cross, and Mercer) and the Hall of Fame (St. Bonaventure, FAU, U of Illinois Chicago, and U of San Diego). HU's games in Boca Raton would be 12:00 or 3:00 on Sunday, December 1st and 11:00 or 2:00 on Monday, December 2nd. Both of these days have four games at FAU. The possible Florida opponents have not been released, but it seems the colleges stay in their two brackets. It also seems that HU has 2 scheduled games against the Hall of Fame bracket with away games at St. Bonaventure and at the U of San Diego. It is also possible that all of this is just speculation, and the information could change. Most of this information has come from the St. Bonaventure and Holy Cross message boards.

We host San Jose St on 11/6. I assume that's the season opener.

So that makes it 4 California colleges so far: San Jose State, UCLA, U of San Diego, and Cal State Fullerton. Are there any other 2018-19 opponents that HU has another contracted game? Wasn't there a possible Columbia home game that was supposed to be scheduled a few seasons ago, but a mutual date was not reached? Is there a Manhattan College game also a possible?
