Good one.
He didn’t play at all this past season Loyola Marymount. Anyone know why?

Gooooood stuff, really like this pickup! A legacy win, way to call it early Stu!

We get an older, strong, versatile scorer and rebounder who at a solid 6'6 200lbs is the perfect size for a wing guard - can battle in the paint, create his own shot, attack the basket, step out for the 3, or hit a turnaround mid-range j. Will be nice to have the Thomas family back around, let's elevate this brother too!

Biggest thing for him will be staying healthy - have to imagine last year was an injury. His college career before that showed a very nice progressive increase in production every year - an all-conf selection, and has been both a leading scorer and a leading rebounder. A lot to like.

Alright, got 1 of the bigs and 1 of the wings we need - loving the clear drive for more size and athleticism - grab 1 more of each, and a some guards that can handle the rock, drop buckets, and bring defensive intensity

Keep 'em coming Speedy!

NCAA aiming toward eliminating redshirts and having a straight five-year eligibility window starting from high school or from 19 years old yet no rules against a 23-year-old Euroleage pro playing in college for the first time?

Word is Cruz Davis is currently officially visiting Texas Tech - they've emerged as a top contender - forgot he's from TX, and they do have guard needs - would be a nice program for him to land in, esp if getting back to his roots is important to him (which I have no idea)

And TT can certainly pay well. That helps. :D

Grand Canyon would annoy me since another midmajor and also a sketchy for-profit school. If he is going to leave can stomach better if one of the power 4's or Big East programs.

Grand Canyon is a non-profit and pays big money to its basketball players. On par with many high majors.

I stand corrected as I see here they were changed to nonprofit status. Still not a fan of that school though and would much prefer he lands at power 4 or Big East program. https://ministrywatch.com/grand-canyon- ... -approved/

Yeah I'm sorry but GCU does not belong in that list - talk about a clear outlier. Regardless of any NIL funding, Cruz needs to go bigger. He doesn't need to go to another mid major fighting tooth and nail for a single bid. I like the TT or UK route thus far - get yourself to a prime hoops program that is going to dance and has a chance to make a run and can pay you top dollar AND has a big time name attached to it.

And let's be real, EVERY school in America is about profit - from university all the way down - throw youth sports leagues in there too which has become nothing but a complete unashamed money grab at every corner (we are in the thick of it with our 3, it's insanity). Don't believe for one NY minute that isn't the case, I don't care what they claim on their tax returns LOL. They just aren't typcially very good at it, and they definitely aren't held accountable to proper management of it. Education is one of the most fiscally mismanaged sectors in this country. Normal businesses that have to answer externally and don't get bailed out by taxpayers every year can't function that like that and survive. Total free for all in education. It's scary and shameful quite frankly.

And HU most definitely can't take any high road charging the astronomical rates they do for a national education ranking that hasn't budged in decades.

Alas, I digress - thats more my rant on the total broken education system we have today, but that's a whooooooole other animal :D LOL

As for Cruz, go BIG or come back home young fella!!

This didn't take long:

Had we defeated Alabama in the NCAAT, we would have faced TT.

Turns out, after where Estrada and Davis ended up, Hofstra being placed i the same pod as Alabama and Texas Tech was unintentionally rubbing it in. Given who Edmead is meeting with, if Oregon wouldn't have been so bad and instead made the NCAAT as a 12 seed, they probably would've found a way to place them in Tampa instead of Akron, too. LOL

I would double or triple that easy. At a school like Texas Tech no way Cruz didnt clear a million imo. Thats basically the going rate for an average starter in the Big 12

Found out last night that he didn't like his situation and didn't want to burn his last year of eligibility so he redshirted.
Good info going around at the meetup - hope more of you can make it next time!

Going rate for p4 starting guards is upwards of 3 million

FYI Louisville might spend 30 million on NIL this year

This is a crazy off the charts college sports environment and kudos to schools like HU that can not only survive in this world but excel as well.
