Next Year's Team
Re: Next Year's Team
No need to apologize, HUSID. Keep the transfer info coming.

Re: Next Year's Team
How many scholarships are left? Except for Sunday Hofstra seems a little undersized as usual.
Re: Next Year's Team
I think we have four spots available for the coming yesr and yes we are undersized at the moment. I expect that will change going forward...one of our freshmen is 6-8 though.
Re: Next Year's Team
Just saw we got another commit, Carlos Lopez 6'2 from St Francis PA. Looks like another potential high scoring guard. All 3 newcomers appear to have 3 years of eligibility remaining. If Speedy can land 1 or 2 grad transfer bigs, we might have a team.

How many guards do we need ???

Re: Next Year's Team
Yeah in guards we trust but enough now unless we plan on playing small. With 3 open scholarships we need all post players. C'mon guys there are a lot of BIGS out there.
Re: Next Year's Team
they will have a lot of lineups of 3 guards with a forward (Plotnikov/DeCady) and a center

Re: Next Year's Team
We need another experienced power forward and probably a starting center with experience as Sunday develops.
Re: Next Year's Team
We are definitely not done yet...got to get a couple of bigs to be competitive.

Re: Next Year's Team
So Michael Graham isn't exactly the most exciting addition as a big, but if we're looking for sneaky upside I'd go back to him averaging 9.3 pts and 6.8 reb in 20 min a night starting every game for Elon in '21-'22 as a potential indicator of what we could be getting over his stats at LMU the last 2 years (he had 12 pts and 8 reb in that awful loss we had to Elon at the Mack that yr).
I'd still prefer our veteran transfer bigs to come from winning programs with better pedigree (Like Nelson from Davidson and Jacq Taylor from Purdue), but great to finally land some size nonetheless

Another New Yorker comes home. I'm all for adding NYC players to our team.

How about 2 new Yorkers in 1 day?!

Based on his height but guard profile, would guess Speedy is planning for this kid to fill Dubars position (not saying he's anywhere near as good).
Feels like the roster is just about complete now:
G- Cruz Davis
G - Aranguren
G/f - gadsden
G/f - plotnikov
F/c - Graham
Bench -
G- Carlos lopez, KiJan, Parnell, farmer
F - the 2 freshman DeCady and Williams
C - Sunday
Feels like a really exciting squad in the maac, but I dunno about a contender in the caa here. But, with all their youth certainly tons of potential for growth, we could wind up like towson did this year. And maybe like towson now most actually stay for 2 yrs and we're a monster in 25-26. Hard to see this group on paper being anywhere near Uncw, towson or Charlestons current level though

Re: Next Year's Team
So we have 1 scholarship left after getting Gadsden.
Re: Next Year's Team
Still think we need to add a "true" big. Not sure we have someone to play the 5 when Sunday is off the floor. Is Graham really a 5???? more like a 4
Re: Next Year's Team
Agree with Cards on the need for another big. I think we'll have two guys red-shirting. Maybe Lopez and Williams. This team will be a big test for Speedy and his staff.
Re: Next Year's Team
Also, I think the fifth Covid year is gone. From this point on, everyone has four years of eligibility, right?

Also read that nobody has to sit out after transferring even multiple transfers.
