I want to know if someone can answer these questions for me as I'm confused at what the new rules are
1. I see now that plays have agents that work for them. Are these agents allowed to talk to other teams about the player they represent while they're in season?
2. Can a school contact either the agent or the player while the season is going on in hopes of them going into the portal so they can get them next year.
3. Can the player themselves put feelers out during the season while they're playing to see if there's any interest in them?
4. If illegal, who enforces the rules, it seems like everything is a free-for-all at this point.
A few questions for the board
Re: A few questions for the board
I don't think even the school would have answers to these. It's definitely a free for all, and if you heard the recent interview with Hurley he essentially said schools are recruiting his players all season long and half of them already know where they're going next year during the season. Schools are hiring GMs to get ahead of the process.
Next up to muddy the waters is the clearinghouse that the NCAA was able to extract in the settlement where a third party will be approving all NIL deals over a miniscule amount (I think $600) for market value appropriateness.
