After tonight's game @W&M we travel just 30 miles east to face Hampton on Saturday.

The Pirates (12-13, 4-8) defeated Northeastern on the road last weekend after losing to the Huskies at home about a week earlier. They host Drexel tonight.

Looking at the schedule at the start of the year and seeing Hofstra at Hampton on Feb. 15, I NEVER expected Hampton to have the better conference record in that one but here we are.

Hampton is among the national leaders in bench points. Noah Farrakhan's 13.5 points are low among guys who lead their team. George Beale Jr. is their other double-digit scorer with 12.9. Kyrese Mullen, who was on the Preseason First Team, scores and shoots much less than last season. Today's other CAA games are Drexel at W&M at 2:00 P.M., Charleston at NC A&T at 2:00 P.M., Monmouth at Towson at 2:00 P.M., Stony Brook at Northeastern at 3:30 P.M. on CBS Sports Network, Campbell at Delaware at 4:00 P.M., and Elon at UNCW at 7:00 P.M. When Stony Brook at Northeastern starts, there will be five CAA games in progress at the same time on a Saturday, which is unusual.

At the under 12 timeout we have 10 combined turnovers and fouls vs 8 pts scored. For all the near misses and what could have been with this team, we've just had too many horrific stretches like this.

Hey Guys-literally been on this board since I graduated and now I’ve decided to finally sign up. Big time fan here…and even though we’ve had tough years by not getting to the tourney (2020 of course with the cancellation) this year has been atrocious. I’m thinking NIL and losing great players has made it tough for our squad and even though I’m a Speedy fan and was excited about his hire, I’ve figured out that speedy isn’t really a coach. I don’t know what it is, but it’s clear that speedy is not a coach and I don’t how about ya’ll but I think this needs to be discussed.

He’s in his fourth year now, but we need a new coach who would be a good get? Hofstra needs to invest money in the basketball program as it’s our flagship program. Look at St. John’s and Pitino!

Here’s a name I like…Gregg Marshall…guys a competitor, has fire, and knows how to win AND Coach. What do you guys think?

Stop. Speedy is not going anywhere, He has won 20 plus games in his first 3 seasons. What if Carlos and Dubar stayed. We would be contending for a title.

Such a strange season. From Sanders mysteriously disappearing from the rotation with no explanation even after we heard "he'll be fine" (although he did reappear a bit after that), to Speedy suddenly missing a game (hopefully he and his family are okay since then), to the blown leads and how everything has steadily spiraled downward to beng in 12th place with four games left after a 35-16 first half at Hampton.

NIL drastically hurt the season's prospects before it began, but then some odd things snowballed along the way and now it seems the season is doomed. They did beat UNCW and were up at Towson by 18, so who knows if that team could somehow appear and against all logic, sustain itself for four or five days in DC, but it looks more likely that as Speedy said recently, they won't win another game without finding some toughness (and at this point, even finding that may not be enough to get another win or two the rest of the way).
