Some of us have a bad taste in our mouths from him leaving getting a scholarship for one year and never playing a minute for us. Then he transferred.

Incredibly random, but on a very slow CBB night was checking in on the Yale Rhode Island game and noticed the leading scorer for 7-0 Rhode Island is none other than our old friend David Green...averaging 15.9 ppg and 5.6 reb as a 5th yr senior. Had totally forgotten about him
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
Happy to see him doing well. Ironically, his only single-digit scoring game this season was against URI's lone CAA foe, in the Rams' 38-point win over Charleston.dutchPride86 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 8:18 pm Incredibly random, but on a very slow CBB night was checking in on the Yale Rhode Island game and noticed the leading scorer for 7-0 Rhode Island is none other than our old friend David Green...averaging 15.9 ppg and 5.6 reb as a 5th yr senior. p.s. William & Mary is playing at Old Dominion tonight. What year is it?!

Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
Boy, could we use Green. Just watched the Yale game (URI 84-78). Green, a 6'7" forward, 26 points, on 9-16, 6-11 on 3s, 9 rebounds 2 blocks.
I would love to still see him here

Noticed too that Kvonn Cramer had a 11 points and 6 rebounds in Bryant's win over Drexel. Losing Green and Cramer still hurts.

It certainly seemed in their respective freshman years that Cramer was the crowd favorite with his dynamic dunks but Green may be having the last laugh with a better college resume. Although Cramer has been hurt. I wouldn’t mind having Green and Marshall back.
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
The loss of Marshall still hurts as well.

Can't keep them all! Pretty pleased with our current roster right now and its potential.

Dubar and Jaquan Carlos are facing off tonight on ESPN with Syracuse playing Tennessee. Seems to have been a struggle for both of them so far at their new schools. I know though that Dubar had missed the first couple games with an undisclosed personal issue, so glad he's at least back on the court.
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
HU recently offered Tylik Weeks (JC transfer) 6'7" 225lb G/F. Would love to see us pick up a guy who has some size and can shoot and attack the basket with some strength and size. Based on mid season highlights in the video below, he fits the bill. Given HUs gusrd focused offense, this guy would fit nicely at the 4 (almost like a Dubar, but stronger). Right now his offers are all mid-majors, so maybe we have a shot. Hometown is Queens NY!

Active defensively
Good rim protector
Also looks to have good hands receiveing the ball on the post
Think I also saw him bury a mid range jumper

Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
Dubar finally had a good game for Tennessee today. 12 pts, 6 reb, and the go-ahead 3 with 4 min left in a road win at Texas. Man do we miss him
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
Dubar leaving was incredibly painful and predictable. We might have been the best team in the league if he stayed. The whole portal setup is such a big "screw you" from the NCAA to the mids. Basically Hofstra and the like were sold down the river for the benefit of the P5. It's hard to have much emotional attachment to the players on the team any more. Anyone who thrives follows the money...and I don't blame them. But unless Hofstra gets in, I have zero interest in the big dance. They can keep it- I won't be watching it or their commercials.

Dubar making his first start of the season today with a couple guys out for Tenn. Top 10 matchup vs Florida on ESPN, can watch the first half before the Campbell game if you're bored. Lol
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
Tennessee leads 24-21 at halftime. Dubar has 4 points and 3 rebounds. Tennessee shot field goals .290, threes .154, and free throws .444, and they are winning. Dubar shot 2-8, which is tied for his second most field goal attempts. His season-high is 9 when he shot 3-9 in their previous game.

Odum and Pepperdine are the Delaware of the WCC. They were 10-21, 4-14 CAA, and lost five straight and 8 of 9 before the WCC tourney. Now they've won three straight and are in the WCC semis.
In the three tourney wins, Odum had 67 pts, shot 26/45, 12/24 from 3, and had 34 asts and 10 to.

Odum is right back in the portal. Maybe we land him this time?

Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
No shot. Off of the season he had at Pepperdine this year, he can go to a power conference that can pay him. That ship has sailed. You'd think Speedy would have chosen him originally over Sanders since Odum's game was more like Speedy's than Sanders' was, but that was obviously the wrong choice.dutchPride86 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 9:42 pmWags wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 10:55 pm Odum and Pepperdine are the Delaware of the WCC. Also, if Odum (against all odds) were to come back, Edmead wouldn't play. Odum will get his money and a much bigger stage, and Edmead will get his minutes here, where he can hopefully have a rookie year like Pasha just had for Delaware.
Re: NCAA 2024 MBB Transfer Portal
Agreed. He's looking to get paid. And entering the portal so soon after the season might mean he already knows who is going to pay him.
