Projected MBB Starters for the 24-25 Season

Post by HUSID80 »

Ok, so now that the dust has settled on what was probably the wildest hoops off-season ever, I'll start this thread by predicting our starting lineup for the upcoming season.

Not surprisingly, I project only one returning starter from last year's team and that is Plotnikov.

Here goes:

Graham 6-8
Gadsen 6-7
Plotnikov 6-6
Cruz 6-3
Sanders 6-4

What do you all think?

No I don’t believe that Sunday starts but continues to make strides getting more playing time. Graham is an experienced PF/C and will start IMO. I don’t know too much about these players so based on their pedigrees HUSID’s starting lineup certainly seems reasonable. On paper we have a talented bunch of kids that will have to gel and learn to play together.

I do too..I see some upside with SS - and could be a beast if he could himself in better shape...I think Graham gives us versatility off the bench

Also another factor with Sunday getting increased minutes is that he’ll have to learn how to stay out of foul trouble. This could keep him on the bench. Moving picks come to mind. He picks up very obvious fouls.

Nor sure Sunday is athletic enough to play the way Speedy wants to play...he is good for short periods of time and when an opponent has a large and somewhat immobile big guy.

Agree HUSID. Silas is a big guy, takes up mucho space, and by the time this season starts, should be able to be relied upon to generate some pts and defense in the paint. That being said, he will not be able to guard a guy like Brzovic (CoC) who is pretty athletic and can move around the court pretty well.

Speedy will need to mix and match Silas and Graham depending on the opponent, foul situation, etc. In fact, if Silas keeps improving, he will create some tough matchups that our opponents might have trouble with! Maybe we have a two-headed beast on our roster ;)

Joshua DeCady , the 6-8 freshman may work his way into the rotation...he does a lot of things well and with the 6-8 size he may be a factor

I know cbb and the nba are basically two entirely different sports, but watching the Knicks tonight I just feel like this stat from nba playoffs needs to be mentioned in regards to whatever the lineup is next season... teams are 51-13 this nba postseason when winning the rebounding battle.

Do we have a roster capable of doing that even once?
