Pittsburgh Pirate shortstop Honus Wagner who was part of the 1936 original five members of the baseball Hall of Fame. The other four were: Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, and Christy Mathewson.

so it was Honus Wagner also known as the Flying Dutchman. Ty Cobb called him the best player he ever saw.
