Re: NCAA Tournament Thread
If I figure it right, all teams that were 13 seeds (like Hofstra) would now be 14 seeds under the new format, playing a 3 seed instead of a 4 seed That is correct. There will now be 4 additional 16 and 15 seeds, and you know those will all be filled by AQs and not at large teams. So have to slide a...

Mark my words Wags it will expand to 96 team All will be from the power 5 All midd majors relegated to the NIT with 64 teams Follow the money If not 128. The sport we loved is well on its way to being severely damaged. But we may have a few years left of it still being okay (at 76). Once it was sho...

Re: NCAA Tournament Thread
Not sure if this is official, but if so, it looks like exactly what I expected them to do, which is simply an expansion of what they were (wrongly) doing before, with half bubble teams and half AQ teams playing the play-in games. Should be 24 bubble teams playing for 12 AL spots and no AQ teams invo...

True, sometimes it works in a good way. But usually those jokes are something we fear.
As much as I didn't want to see Parrotta leave, I'll take the Tanner for Parrotta trade, so you did more help than harm.

You gotta stop with these jokes, Stu. You're starting to speak them into existence.stuball888 wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2026 6:20 pm Just spoke to Tom He is going up to Quinnipiac and be reunited with coach Pecora.

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
College athletes now have two sources of income: NIL, which has been available for several years, and revenue sharing, which is new. Of course, colleges must have revenue to share. I doubt that we do. This site explains more: https://www.ncsasports.org/blog/what-is-ncaa-revenue-sharing Seems to be ...

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
It's one thing to lose your players to bigger schools but to lose your best players within the conference is just way wrong. There needs to be a law against this crap! They're essentially employees now since they're getting paid, so no court would limit the ability of a player to play at any school...

Re: NCAA Tournament Thread
It would not be ideal to be in the play-in round but it Would give us a better chance of winning a first round game and getting a second game in the dance. It also brings in money those schools, so it's not all bad for them, but I still hate it. When a 16 beats another 16 in a play-in, I think it's...

As rumored, 76 teams will be very likely starting next year for the men's and women's tournaments. That plan could be finalized over roughly the next three weeks.

Only 71 players entered the 2026 NBA Draft (the lowest since 2003), down one-third from 106 last year, and way down from a peak of 363 in 2021.
Pay, and they will stay.

Very cool! Maybe if the losing streak is still going by then, some of that championship DNA will rub off to help the Mets finally win a game again.
