Re: 2022 Women's Soccer
Women push their record to 2-0-1 with a 3-0 win over Albany. First goal was an own goal so it was credited as a team goal for Hofstra. It was an even game till Thorhildur Thorhailsdottir took over and scored two goals. We now have to give her a cool nickname. we now have She Hulk out on a streaming...

Were 7-9-3 last year but were close in many matches against tough opponents including a 0-0 tie with St. Louis who went 16-1-4 and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.HUSID80 wrote:Great to open with a win! Is Fordham any good? Really don't know much about college soccer.

Re: 2022 Women's Soccer
Exactly what I thought HP1. Doesn’t add up - unless it’s a specific program and I’m just not up to speed - because USF isn’t exactly an academic powerhouse lol. Oh well, things happen - sounds like they have some young talent - and they have Simon. Working to take my girls to a game, their first - ...

Re: 2022 Women's Soccer
I don't don't doubt it, just saying her reasoning is flawed and there was probably more that drove decision. Major loss, but on positive front I loved what I saw Thursday from the two new freshmen from Iceland who teamed up on the first goal. There will be some growing pains, but am hoping we can st...

Re: 2022 Women's Soccer
Hm, seems like an odd transfer... anyone have the scoop behind this?? I was told that she wanted a school(program) that was more scholastically advanced. A very smart kid that was definitely into the academics of the school. If she went to Duke that would make sense but not South Florida! Sent from...

Re: 2022 Women's Soccer
Hofstra defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 3-2. The teams alternated goals. Thorhildur Thorhallsdottir, Anja Suttner, and Ellen Halselth scored. The last four goals were scored from 69:30 to 87:41, so we did not score the winner until there was 2:19 left. We had more shots on goal, 12 to 2, and we did no...

Re: 2022 Women's Soccer
As far as the team is concerned we actually lost a good player to transfer when Georgia Brown transferred out to USF. She was the CAA rookie of the year and a very good player. According to the coach he said he never lost a player to transfer as long as he has been coaching there. It will be in int...

Re: CAA Expansion
The North-South division format could alleviate some of those concerns. Unfortunately no good realistic options for a more northern league.Hofstra wrote:Not in love with adding these low level teams. Hopefully Hofstra moves on from this conference eventually. We need a more northern based league.

Re: CAA Expansion
If we had to add another south team not the worst addition as another private school at least. At 14 schools we should be positioned now to have north-south divisions starting in 2023/24 season.

Re: CAA Expansion
Just don't know why we would want Quinnipiac in this league? They haven't been D-1 all that long and athletically what do they bring to the table? Their ice hockey team or their women's basketball program that went to the sweet 16. Just don't think they're a good fit here. Academically they're a go...

Re: CAA Expansion
Looks like Howard will also be joining the CAA soon according to this article https://hbcugameday.com/2022/04/16/sources-howard-university-prepping-for-conference-change/ Would be decent addition for basketball and a solid academic school, but would hurt RPI wise in other sports where we compete fo...

Re: GWU to Retire "Colonials"
I agree this move was completely unnecessary by GW. Whether CAA does it also is hard to say, but bottom line is very few people call conference by its full name so it wouldn't shock me if they came up with another c word like Collegiate Athletic Association where you could still say CAA.
